Lead stages

1. Raw Leads: Raw leads are the ones who have just entered your organization. All contacts who enter your system will be added to this stage by default. 
2. Marketing Ready: These are contacts who start paying attention to you. You must nurture them with marketing campaigns and educate them more about you and your potential. 
3. Marketing Engaged: These are contacts who are being nurtured through your targeted marketing. These are people who have started engaging with your marketing programs and brand as a whole.
4. Marketing Qualified: These are contacts who are nurtured through marketing activities. These contacts are qualified by the marketing team based on their level of engagement with the product. They can be handed over to the sales team to make them sales ready. 
5. Sales Ready: Contacts who are equipped by the sales team through calls, one-on-one meetings, product demos etc come under this stage. These contacts either convert or cross over.
   
    

Note:

Contacts can be pushed to different lead stages by:

1. manual drag and drop in the Contacts by Stage tab inside View Contacts section.
   
   
   
   
2. using Journeys.
   

To set up Custom stages

Besides the default stages, you can add custom stages according to your requirements and define the criteria for them.

1. Under Contacts menu in the Navigation Toolbar to the left, select Lead Qualification.
2. Select Lead Stage Configuration tab at the top.
   
3. Click the Plus icon + or edit icon.
   
   
   
   
4. Click Add custom stage after the stage you want to add.
5. Name the stage. A new custom stage will be created.
   
   
   
   

Note:

1. You can delete a custom stage by clicking the Delete Icon that pop ups when you hover over a custom stage.
   
2. You cannot delete a default stage. However, you can disable it by using the Disable enable toggle switch located to the right of a default stage.
   
3. When you disable a default stage, you can move the leads associated with the stage to any stage you wish to using the dropdown that appears there.
