Segments
Segments in Contacts section allows you to categorize contacts in groups based on different criteria. Dividing contacts into small groups lets you focus on the needs of the particular set effectively. This helps in strategizing potent marketing campaigns for targeted contacts thereby increasing contacts conversion and overall revenue.
You can create segments based on specific criteria such as geographical (country, state, city), demography (age, gender) or based on behaviour and buying patterns. You can also separate contacts using field details such as the first name, last name, company name, state, country and other custom information and campaigns can be sent out to a particular set of contacts.
The segments are dynamic. Contacts will be added or removed if there are changes in the specified criteria after the creation of the segment.
To create segments
- Under Contacts menu in the Navigation Toolbar to the left, select Segments.
- Click on Create segment.
- In the Segment Name field, provide a name for the segment.
- Set the Criteria to be fulfilled for a lead to enter into this segment. You can set more than one criteria for a segment by clicking on the + button at far right of the first criteria.
- Click on Save and Proceed.

To navigate to the Contacts tab of a segment
Under Contacts menu in the Navigation Toolbar to the left, select Segments.
Click on the segment and click on Contacts tab.
You can perform various bulk operations on contacts inside a segment similar to how you can do in the View Contacts section.
Note: You can navigate to other tabs within a segment (as shown in previous image) to view the respective data relevant to that segment.
To edit segment criteria
- Under Contacts menu in the Navigation Toolbar to the left, select Segments.
- Click on the segment in which you would like to edit criteria.
- Navigate to the Criteria tab.
Click on Edit icon.- Update the criteria. Once you are done, click Save.
To view contact summary
- Under Contacts menu in the Navigation Toolbar to the left, select Segments.
- Click on the segment.
- You will land on the Summary tab. Check out various contact related statistics particular to this segment in this page.
To move segments to folder
- Under Contacts menu in the Navigation Toolbar to the left, select Segments.
- Select the required segments.
- Click on Move to Folder.
- Choose an existing folder or create a new folder to move the files to that folder.
To export a segment
Under Contacts menu in the Navigation Toolbar to the left, select Segments.
- Click on the More Actions button and click on Export.
To delete a segment
Under Contacts menu in the Navigation Toolbar to the left, select Segments.
- Click on the More Actions button and click on Delete.
To clone a segment
Under Contacts menu in the Navigation Toolbar to the left, select Segments.
- Click on the More Actions button and click on Clone.
The cloned segment will be created and displayed in the list view.
