How to set up Principal Entities – Telemarketers Chain on a DLT portal

Important:

Principal Entities – Telemarketers (PE-TM) process is only for DLT-based SMSes sent to Indian mobile numbers.

As per the guidelines of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), it is mandatory for all Principal Entities (PE) to disclose the Chain creation steps on DLT for Enterprises, Telemarketers for Aggregation Function (TM-AF) and Telemarketers for Delivery Function. This is to limit unauthorized activities and misuse of telecom resources.

In this document, we'll walk you through the steps to set up the PE-TM Chain in your DLT portal.

Binding a principal entity and the telemarketer in the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) system is straightforward. To do this:

Log into your DLT operator’s website.
Navigate to the SMS Telemarketer tab (this tab varies based on the DLT operator you use).
Click Create Chain.
In the pop-up that appears, enter 1102631350000082951 as the Telemarketer ID and select Zoho Corporation Private Limited as the Delivery Telemarketer.
Click Submit.

You’ll be provided with a chain ID in your DLT operator’s website with Pending status.

Note:

We recommend that you create two chain entries with Zoho as the Telemarketer Aggregator. These entries can be identical, using the same chain names for both. This ensures SMS delivery through our fallback mechanism, guaranteeing delivery even if the direct route is unavailable or during connectivity issues.

Once you've obtained the chain ID, please contact our support at support@zohomarketingautomation.com with the following details so we can verify and approve it:

1. Portal - DLT portal you use (Airtel DLT, JIO DLT, VILPower DLT, etc.)
2. Business Name
3. PEID (Principal Entity ID)
4. Chain ID or Workflow ID (if using Airtel)

5. Your Zoho Marketing Automation's organization ID (Settings -> Brand Settings -> Organization tab -> Organization URL).

After our approval, you’ll be notified via email; then, you can proceed to approve the requests on your DLT operator’s website.

Here, we've taken the example of initiating the process in the VILPower DLT portal.

To set up the chain,

Login to your DLT portal.
Click on Chains, and New Chain.
Add all the relevant details about the chain including Chain Name, Telemarketer name as Zoho Corporation Private Limited, Telemarketer ID, and Telemarketer Type.
Click Submit.
Once you complete these steps, you can see that your chain creation request is pending on the Chain Home Page. The chain will be created once Zoho (your telemarketer) approves your request.
