Define link click goal

You can track clicks on specific links in your website. For example you would want to track the number of clicks your new blog post link has got.

 

Only the links that are on the web pages where the tracking code has been embedded can be tracked.

 


            

  1. Select Goals under Web Analytics from the Left panel and the click New Goal.

  2. Name your goal in the first step of the wizard flow.

  3. Choose the goal type as Link Clicks.

  4. Enter the page URL on which you want to track the link clicks.


You can also track the same link across multiple pages by enabling the Advanced button. This option also allows you to use different URL match types, and further include or exclude a group of web pages from being tracked for this specific goal.
  1. Choose the type of Links you would like to track and enter the value.

You can also use different URL match types to target a specific URL or a group of URLs

  1. Click Next.

  1. Post goal action wizard appears, Select the activity and assign the value.


Post goal action set up is optional. You can assign activities and scores to visitors who have achieved the configured goal. This helps in contact classification.

  1. Click Launch, to get this goal up and running in your website.
