Understanding time spent on page goal:
This type of goal allows you to track the amount of time spent by the visitors on your page. You can specify the conversion time limit to be spent on particular pages. If a user spends the specified amount of time or exceeds the specified time limit, conversion takes place.
This goal helps you to gauge the performance of pages. If users spend the specified amount on your page, it means they have found the content useful and have actually read through it. this way you can find out if your pages are engaging or not

Only the web pages where the tracking code has been embedded can be tracked.
To define Time spent on page goal:
- Select Goals under Web Analytics from the Left panel and then click New Goal.
- Name your goal in the first step of the wizard flow.
- Choose the goal type as Time spent on page.
- Enter the page URL for which you want to track the time spent by the visitors.
You can also track the time spent by the visitors across multiple pages by enabling the Advanced button. This option also allows you to use different URL match types, and further include or exclude a group of web pages from being tracked for this specific goal.
- Enter the time limit in seconds in the Conversion threshold field.
- Click Next.
- In the Response Action page, select the activity and the score you wish to assign to the selected activity.

Response action set up is optional. For response action, you can choose an action of your choice and assign activities and scores to visitors who have achieved the configured goal. This helps in lead classification.
- Click Launch, to get this goal up and running in your website.
