Given below are some audio and video errors that occur in Chrome and Firefox browsers and solutions that will help you overcome them during online meetings and webinars.
Track start error or Not Readable error
This error occurs if audio and video are disabled in your Windows device manager. On Mac OS, it occurs if another Firefox tab is using your audio and video devices. It may also occur due to hardware errors at the OS, browser, and web page levels.
These errors may also occur due to OS level permissions in Mac OS Mojave. Please refer to the related section on this page.
Solutions:
- Close the application that uses the camera and/or microphone and refresh to allow access.
- Use a different microphone and camera.
- Switch to phone audio.
Camera not working in the latest chrome browser
Google flags are experimental features that Chrome is testing internally. Media Foundation Video Capture is one of them. Reportedly, enabling Media Foundation Video Capture on browsers might hamper the webcam’s operation and therefore camera from the chrome browser may not work.
Steps to disable the Google flag:
1. Copy and paste chrome://flags/#enable-media-foundation-video-capture on your Chrome browser address bar.
2. Select Disabled from the drop-down list.
3. Relaunch your browser and check if the camera works now.
Not Found Error or Devices Not Found Error
This error occurs when there are no audio/video devices connected or when your computer or microphone does not have a sound card. It can also occur if the recording device is disabled.
Solution:
If you do not have audio/video devices or a sound card, you can switch to phone audio.
Over Constrained Error or Constraints Not Satisfied Error
If your hardware does not support certain requirements, this error will be shown.
Solutions
- To fix video issues, use a different camera.
- To fix audio issues, join the session using the Zoho Meeting desktop app to fix audio.
- Switch to phone audio and join the session without video.
Not Allowed Error, Permission Denied Error, Invalid state etc
(Also shown as Permission Dismissed, Media Device Failed to shut down, and Media Device Kill Switch on)
This error occurs if you have denied access to Zoho Meeting to use your microphone and camera.
Solutions:
- Enable camera and microphone access.

Track ended
This error occurs when there is no longer any audio/video data to be streamed. It may occur if media devices are disconnected by a user or the access to use them is revoked.
Solutions
- Restart the browser or system and try again.
- Use the Zoho Meeting Desktop app.
- Use a different camera.
- Switch to phone audio and continue without video.
Error in using the chosen camera or microphone
This error occurs when certain extensions added to your browser blocks WebRTC calls.
Solutions
- Switch to phone audio.
- Use the Zoho Meeting desktop app.
- Contact our support team.
Abort error
This error prevents the audio/video devices from being used apart even after providing access to your camera and microphone.

- Refresh your browser tab or restart your system.
- Switch to phone audio.
- Use the Zoho Meeting desktop app.
- Contact our support team.
