How Does the Cleanup Work?

  1. It runs quietly in the background
    The cleanup happens automatically. You do not need to tap anything or go into any settings. It runs while the app is open, without interrupting what you are doing.
  2. It follows a 30-day rule
    Any locally stored file (image, audio, video, or attachment) that you have not opened or used in the last 30 days is considered stale and gets cleared from your device.
  3. It also watches your storage space
    If your locally stored Notebook files cross a certain size limit (for example, 1 GB), the cleanup kicks in right away, even if it has not been 30 days yet. This acts as a safety net to prevent your storage from getting too full.
  4. It never misses a beat
    If your phone or tablet was switched off, or the app was not opened on the day cleanup was scheduled, do not worry. The next time you open Zoho Notebook, it will automatically run the cleanup then, so nothing is ever skipped.
