Zoho Notebook includes a built-in scanner that lets you capture documents, business cards, receipts, notes, and images directly using your device’s camera. Accessing the Scanner  

You can access the scanner while creating a new notecard in Zoho Notebook.

To open the scanner:

  1. Open Zoho Notebook on your mobile device.

  2. Tap Add Notecard (+ icon).

  3. Select the Camera / Capture option.

  4. Use your device camera to capture the content.

  5. The photos from the gallery can also be added.

Once captured, the scan is saved as a notecard in the selected notebook.

Capture Options in the Scanner  

When the Camera option is selected, three capture modes are available at the bottom of the screen. These options help users choose the most suitable scan type before capturing content.

Business Card  

Designed specifically for scanning business cards and ID-style content. This mode captures and organizes key information efficiently and supports scanning both sides when required.

Photo  

This option captures standard photos without applying document-specific enhancements. It is best suited for:

  • Images

  • Posters

  • Visual references

  • Handwritten content where formatting matters

Document  

This option is optimized for scanning printed or handwritten documents.
When Document mode is selected:

  • The scanner detects document edges automatically

  • Text clarity is enhanced

  • The scanned content is converted into text-based notes using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) in Zoho Notebook. This allows users to copy, search, and edit the extracted text within the notecard.
