You can access the scanner while creating a new notecard in Zoho Notebook.
To open the scanner:
Open Zoho Notebook on your mobile device.
Tap Add Notecard (+ icon).
Select the Camera / Capture option.
Use your device camera to capture the content.
The photos from the gallery can also be added.
When the Camera option is selected, three capture modes are available at the bottom of the screen. These options help users choose the most suitable scan type before capturing content.
Business Card
Photo
This option captures standard photos without applying document-specific enhancements. It is best suited for:
Images
Posters
Visual references
Handwritten content where formatting matters
Document
This option is optimized for scanning printed or handwritten documents.
When Document mode is selected:
The scanner detects document edges automatically
Text clarity is enhanced
The scanned content is converted into text-based notes using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) in Zoho Notebook. This allows users to copy, search, and edit the extracted text within the notecard.

Captures the document automatically when alignment is optimal, reducing the need for manual input.
Perspective Correction
After scanning, users can apply enhancement filters to improve readability and overall scan quality.
Original – Retains the original colors of the document or image.
Black & White – Ideal for text-heavy documents, improving contrast and readability.
Grayscale – Provides balanced contrast for documents with both text and images.
Text Enhancer – Enhances text sharpness and reduces background noise for clearer reading.
Magic Color – Automatically adjusts colors and lighting to produce a vibrant and refined scan.
Zoho Notebook allows users to scan multiple pages and save them together as a single notecard. This is especially useful for documents such as contracts, notes, or forms that span multiple pages.
Once scanning is complete:
The scan is saved as a notecard
Users can rename the note, move it to another notebook, or add text alongside the scan
Scanned notecards can be searched, shared, and backed up like any other note in Zoho Notebook
The scanner feature is available on Zoho Notebook mobile apps for Android and iOS Devices.
1. Can I edit the scanned document after saving it?
Yes. Once saved as a notecard, you can add text, rename the note, move it to another notebook, or apply tags.
2. Does the scanner work offline?
Yes, you can scan documents without an internet connection. However, syncing across devices and cloud will require an internet connection.
3. How many pages can I scan into a single notecard?
There is no strict limit, but performance may vary depending on your device. It is recommended to keep multi-page scans manageable for better usability.
7. Can I share scanned notecards with others?
Yes. Scanned notecards can be shared just like any other note via email, apps, or collaboration features within Zoho Notebook.
