Open AI Sign Up and Zia activation
What is Open AI?
Open AI is the artificial intelligence research company. In Open AI, one can ask questions and get results immediately. The Open AI assisted chatbots are helping users across countries by answering to their searches.
Notebook uses Open AI to empower Zia. To enable Zia, an API key, generated by Open AI, needs to be entered in Notebook. Read below for the steps to sign up for Open AI and to configure Zia in Notebook.
How to Sign Up for Open AI?
To get the encryption key, you need to sign into Open AI. Once the key is obtained, copy and paste the key in Notebook Zia settings and start using the feature.
To sign into Open AI, follow the below steps.
Click 'Sign Up'
Enter your email address and click 'Continue'
Choose a password and click 'Continue'
An email will be sent to the given mail id with the verification link. Verify the login through the link. Once verified, you will be taken to the next page. Incase you didn't receive the email the first time, click 'Resend Email'.
On the next page, enter details like, First name, Last name, Organization name and birthday. Click 'Continue'.
Verify your phone number on the next page. Choose the country code while entering the phone number.
A verification code will be sent to this number either through WhtasApp or SMS. Click 'Yes' if you want the code to be sent to WhatsApp. Click 'No' if you want the code through SMS.
Once the verification code is entered and verified, you will be redirected to the Open AI main screen.
How to generate key
Once logged in to Open AI, you can start with generating API key. This key is to activate Zia in Notebook. To generate the encryption key, follow the below steps.
In the Open AI home page, go to 'Personal' on the top right corner. Click 'View API Keys'
Click 'Create New Secret Key'
Select 'Create Secret Key' on the pop up.
A new key will be generated. Copy the key immediately as you will not be able to view the key again in Open AI, once closed
Use this key to enable Zia in Notebook
Billing and Usage
Charges will be applied on every text and image query and will be billed accordingly inside your Open AI account. To view your billing and usage, follow the below steps.
Go to Personal > View API Keys
On the left side of the page, you will find Usage and Billing. Click on 'Billing' under 'Organization'. Here you can set up paid account, view billing history, and so on.
On the same page, click on 'Usage' at the left side under 'Organization'. Here you can view monthly usage, daily usage breakdown, and so on.
Notebook and Open AI
Encryption key generation in Open AI can be done in few simple steps as mentioned above. Now, to make the handshake between Notebook and Open AI successful, the key generated in Open AI must be entered in Notebook. Follow below steps to enable Zia in Notebook.
Go to Profile in the top right corner in Notebook
Click 'Zia' just below settings
On the next screen, enter the key obtained from Open AI > click 'Submit'
Now, you can start using Zia, powered by Open AI, in Notebook. The icon for the same will be found at the bottom of every notecard. For each query, the charges will be reflected in your Open AI account.
