This article explains how synchronization works, how backups are handled, and what users should know to keep their notes secure.

How Sync Works in Zoho Notebook

What is Sync?

Sync (synchronization) ensures that any changes you make to your notes are automatically updated across all devices where you are signed in with the same Zoho account.

For example:

  • Create a note on your mobile device → It appears on the web app.

  • Edit a note on your laptop → The updated version reflects on your tablet.

  • Delete a note on one device → It is removed across all devices.

Info

Sync happens automatically when:

  • You are signed in to your Zoho account.

  • Your device is connected to the internet.

  • Tags

  • Attachments

  • Noteboards and Whiteboards

  • Updates or edits made to existing content

Offline Access and Sync Behavior

Zoho Notebook allows you to work offline on mobile and desktop apps. When you create or edit notes offline and delete or move notecards. The changes are saved locally on your device.

Once your device reconnects to the internet, all changes are automatically synced to the cloud and other devices reflect the updated content. This ensures uninterrupted productivity even without internet access.

AlertDo not uninstall the Zoho Notebook app without confirming that all your notes have been successfully synced. If the app is uninstalled before syncing completes, any unsynced local data may be permanently lost.
