Steps to Enable Mail Hosting

1. Sign in to Zoho One, then click Admin Panel icon  on the top-right corner.
   
2. Click Organization on the left menu.
3. Select Domains, then click the domain you want to enable mail hosting for.
   
4. Click Enable Mail Hosting.
   

   If Zoho Mail has not been added yet, you'll be redirected to the Applications menu in the Admin Panel to complete the setup. Once you’ve set up Zoho Mail, select the appropriate account from the Applications menu to host your mailbox.
5. Click Enable to complete mail hosting setup. You’ll then be redirected to the Email Configuration page in Zoho Mail. From here, you can proceed to verify MX records at your domain manager. Once verification is complete, a mailbox will be created to start receiving emails addressed to your domain.
   

Set Up Mailbox for a Verified Domain (First-Time Setup)

1. Sign in to Zoho One, then click Admin Panel icon  on the top-right corner.
   
2. Click Organization on the left menu.
3. Select Domains, then click the domain you want to set up a mailbox for.
4. Click Set Up next to Host Mailbox, then click Set Up Mailbox.
   
5. You’ll be taken through different flows depending on:
   
1. Whether mail hosting is enabled or not
   
2. Whether the domain is verified
   

Scenarios

1. Zoho Mail not added to Zoho One yet: You’ll be taken through the Mail setup flow first. Once completed, you can add Mail to your organization and proceed to mailbox setup.
   
2. Zoho Mail added but domain not verified: You'll be guided through the Verify Domain screen and proceed to configure and validate MX records.
   
3. Mail hosting not enabled: You’ll be taken to the General Info page of the domain in Zoho Mail.
   
4. Mail hosting already enabled: You’ll be directed to the Email Configuration page, where you can begin MX record verification and complete mailbox setup.
   

Verify MX Records at Your Domain’s DNS Manager

The MX verification procedure and Step 5 below can be skipped during email migration, as that process includes MX setup. See the Migration section below.

1. Sign in to your domain host.
   
2. Navigate to the DNS Settings or DNS Records section.
   
3. Locate the option to add MX records. First, remove existing MX records.
   
4. Add each of the MX records provided by Zoho Mail:
   
1. Host/Name: Enter '@' or leave it blank.
   
2. Address/Mail Server: Paste the copied value from Zoho.
   
3. Priority: Enter the priority number.
   
4. TTL: Set to the minimum value allowed by your host.
   
5. Save the record. Wait for propagation. If issues occur, refer to your domain host’s help docs or contact their support.
   

Explore Zoho Mail

1. Sign in to Zoho One, then click Admin Panel icon  on the top-right corner.
   
2. Click Organization on the left menu.
3. Select Domains, click the domain, then click Explore next to Host Mailbox.
4. Click Explore Zoho Mail.
   

1. No Zoho Mail instance yet: You’ll be redirected to mail.zoho.com to create a personal Zoho Mail account for exploring the service.
   
2. Already using Zoho Mail with another domain: You’ll be taken to the Admin Console of your existing Zoho Mail setup.
   
3. Using another Mail Provider (SMTP Client Mode): If your mailbox is hosted elsewhere (like Gmail, Yahoo, etc.,), you can still send emails via Zoho. There wouldn't be any need to switch providers. SMTP client mode lets you manage and send emails from your existing mailbox, while Zoho handles the routing and management end.
