Description
You may encounter this error when you are trying to deactivate a user.
Reason
This error will occur because of the following reasons:
- The user is the only service admin in an app:
Most apps in Zoho One must have at least one service admin. If the user you're trying to deactivate is the only service admin in an app, then you will get this error.
- The user is the owner of an app:
Most apps in Zoho One require a dedicated app owner who holds special privileges in the app. If the user you are trying to deactivate is the owner of an app, then you will get this error.
Solution
The steps to deactivate vary between two User Interface versions supported in Zoho One. Select the UI you use from the tabs below and proceed with the steps that follow.
To deactivate the use
Spaces UI
- Sign in to Zoho One, then click
on the top right corner. - Go to Applications, then click on the app.
- If the user is the only admin in the app, add another user as an admin:
- Click Assign Users.
- Select a user, then provide an admin role.
- Click Assign.
Make sure that the new admin has access to the app. If the user is marked as Inactive, hover over the user, then click Enable.
- If the user is listed as the OWNER next to the app, assign another user as owner:
- Click the required app.
- Click Change Owner, then choose a new owner for the app.
- Click Change.
- Try deactivating the user.
Unified UI
- Sign in to Zoho One, then click Directory in the left menu.
- Go to Applications, then click on the app.
- If the user is the only admin in the app, add another user as an admin:
- Click Assign Users.
- Select a user, then provide an admin role.
- Click Assign.
Make sure that the new admin has access to the app. If the user is marked as Inactive, hover over the user, then click Enable.
- If the user is listed as the OWNER next to the app, assign another user as owner:
- Click the required app.
- Click Change Owner, then choose a new owner for the app.
- Click Change.
- Try deactivating the user.
