Prerequisites
Roles that can perform this action:
- Organization Owner
- Organization Admin
The steps to edit fields vary between the two User Interface versions supported in Zoho One. Select the UI version you use from tabs below and proceed with the steps that follow.
Spaces UI
- Sign in to Zoho One, then click
on the top-right corner.
- Go to Users, then click Manage Fields.
- Hover over the required field, then click Edit.
- Make the required changes.
- In custom fields, everything except Field Type can be edited.
- In system fields, you can restrict the user from changing their details through their Zoho account.
- Click Update.
Unified UI
- Sign in to Zoho One, then click Directory in the left navigation menu.
- Go to Users, then click Manage Fields.
- Hover over the required field, then click Edit.
- Make the required changes.
- In custom fields, everything except Field Type can be edited.
- In system fields, you can restrict the user from changing their details through their Zoho account.
- Click Update.
Effects of editing old fields
When an old field is edited, the changes made will be applied retroactively to the existing users.
For example, assume you had set the default value of the Shift Timing text field as "9 to 5". You add 10 users, all with the default value set for Shift Timing. If you then edit the field and set the default value as "10 to 6", all 10 users will display "10 to 6" as their Shift Timing.
