Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does PageSense support AI-based personalization?
Yes, PageSense offers AI-assisted capabilities (like Zia) to help generate content variations and suggestions. However, personalization itself is primarily rule-based, allowing you to define experiences based on user behavior, attributes, and conditions.
Example: Use Zia to generate headline variations, then target them to specific audiences.

2. Can I integrate personalization with other tools?
Yes, PageSense can be integrated with tools like Amplitude to enrich user data and enhance audience targeting.
However, personalization itself is built and executed within PageSense, while integrations like Amplitude help bring in additional behavioral insights for more advanced segmentation.
Example:
You can use Amplitude data to identify high-intent users and target them in PageSense with personalized offers or messages.

3. Can I compare personalized vs default experiences?
Yes, PageSense allows you to compare the performance of personalized experiences against the default (original) version using defined goals. This helps measure the impact of personalization on conversions.
Example: Compare conversion rates between users who saw a personalized banner vs the default homepage.

4. Can I personalize multiple pages at once?
Yes, you can apply personalization across multiple pages by defining URL rules or patterns during setup. This is useful for campaigns that target a group of pages.
Example: Show the same promotional banner across all product pages using a URL pattern.

5. What types of audience segments can I create?
You can create audience segments based on conditions such as location, device type, traffic source, behavior, new vs returning visitors, and custom attributes.
Example: Target mobile users from a specific location who visited your pricing page.

6. How is personalization different from A/B testing?
Personalization shows tailored content to specific audience segments, while A/B testing compares multiple variations to determine which performs better overall.
Example: Personalization shows different banners to different users, whereas A/B testing shows variations randomly to measure performance.

7. What is a custom dimension?
A custom dimension is a user-defined attribute that helps you track and segment visitors based on specific data points not available by default.
Example: Track user type (e.g., “Premium” vs “Free”) and personalize experiences accordingly.

8. Can I run multiple personalization campaigns at the same time?
Yes, you can run multiple personalization campaigns simultaneously. Each campaign is evaluated independently based on its audience targeting conditions. However, if multiple campaigns target the same page and audience, only one experience will be shown based on priority settings.
Example: A location-based campaign and a returning-user campaign can run together, but if both apply to the same visitor, one will take precedence.
