Create a multi-screen pop-up in PageSense

In PageSense, apart from creating the traditional single-step pop-ups that ask for information like visitor name and/or email address at the first sight, you can also set up a more effective and engaging multi-screen pop-up campaigns to boost  conversions and sales on your website. A multi-screen pop-up is a campaign that is broken down into multiple steps which usually starts out with a redirection link or call-to-action button and urges visitors to finish a process that they have already started. It is very similar to a website's onboarding process where visitors follow a series of small steps or forms to set up an account and complete a sign up procedure.

Generally, a multi-screen pop-up has the following stages:

  • A main screen that showcases the message with a customized click to link or button action

  • A follow up pop-up screen based on the choice made in the main screen

  • Finally, a thank you message or redirection page to mark the completion of action.

This type of pop-up can be useful when you want to:

  • Identify and sort users according to their interests and then offer them resources and discounts that match their preferences.

  • Helps you personalize the message for visitors during each step of the process, and deliver the right offer and content to visitors based on their needs.

  • Reduces drop-offs in in your pop-up forms  by breaking down long form pop-ups into multiple, easily digested steps that can hold the interest of your visitors until the end.

Let's now learn how to create a simple Yes/No multi-screen pop-up in PageSense.

To create a multi-screen pop-up:
1. Click Pop-Ups on the left pane, then click the New Pop-up button.

2. Enter a descriptive name and the URL of the web page where you want to show the pop-up, then click
Create.

3. Under the
POP-UP TYPE tab, select the pop-up design you want to display to your visitors and then click Next in the top-right corner. You can either choose from the predefined set of templates such as Pop-Ups, Slide-Ins, Banners, and Fullscreen or create your own using the Blank templates option.

4. Once you choose your desired pop-up template, you will see the Main Screen in the TEMPLATE EDITOR. Add the relevant content you want to display to your users on your Main Screen.
Let's now create a multi screen popup displaying an attractive shopping discount to customers on an ecommerce website. Here, the Main screen will display an attractive headline message and two call-to-actions that users can pick from. When visitors click 'CTA 01' in the Main screen they will be taken to the next screen in the popup that reveals the discount code, on the other hand, when visitors click 'CTA 02' in the Main screen, they will be shown a thank you screen to indicate the completion of the process.

5. Next, select the
Main screen dropdown and click the Add New Screen button to add a new screen.
Based on our example, the New Screen (Screen 02) is the next immediate screen added after your main screen (that you've already chosen in the previous step).
By default, every new screen you add to your pop-up will be named in numerical order, such as Screen 02, Screen 03, and so on. You can choose to rename, duplicate, and delete your screen anytime you want.

6. From the left pane, c
lick GRID and drag and drop the necessary elements, such as textbox, image, input box, and button in the Screen 2 of your pop-up. You can also edit and format the properties of an element, such as background color, button color, shadow effect, and more, using the easy-to-use pop-up template editor. There are no coding skills required.

7. Next, decide where you want to redirect your visitor when they click the action button.
Based on the aim of your campaign, you can customize the action buttons to redirect to another webpage or to jump to another pop-up screen, or choose to simply close the pop-up window. Learn how to insert and customize an action button on your pop-up

For
Screen 02, When visitors click 'Yes, Claim Now' in the Main screen they will be taken to the next screen in the popup that reveals the discount code as shown below.

On the other hand, when visitors click
No, Thanks in the Main screen, they will be shown a thank you screen to indicate the completion of the process, as shown below. To add a thank you screen, select Add New Screen from the dropdown menu.
Few of the pop-up templates in PageSense already include a default 'Thank you screen' message that you can immediately choose from and customize as per your business need.

8. Once you're happy with the pop-up design, click Next in the top-right corner to proceed to the audience settings for your pop-up.
