What Is a Course Request?
A course request allows employees to request courses that are not currently available in the organization's LMS course catalog. If you believe a particular course would benefit you, your team, or the wider organization, you can submit a course request to recommend its inclusion.
Once a request is submitted, course administrators are notified and can review the requirement. Based on the request, they may either create a new course or map the request to an existing published course that closely matches the requested learning objective.
What Is This Feature Useful For?
The course request feature helps organizations identify training needs directly from employees, ensuring that the learning catalog remains relevant and aligned with evolving skill requirements. It also provides employees with a structured way to influence learning and development initiatives within the organization.
Submitting a Course Request
Follow these steps to submit a course request
- Navigate to LMS (from the left side, user service bar)
- Select the Course Request tab
- Click on the Add Request button
- Fill out the 'Add Course Request' form
- Click Submit
Once the request is submitted, the record will be added with the status updated as "Pending" in the 'Course Request' tab.
Manage Course Request Notifications
To enable, disable, or customize course notification templates, navigate to Settings > LMS > Automation > Notification > Course Request and enable or disable the required notifications. If you wish to edit a notification template, simply hover your pointer over a notification, select the 'View Template' option, and then select the Edit icon to make changes.
Adding or Tagging a Course to a Submitted Course Request
Once a course request is submitted, there are two ways to proceed
1. Tag an existing course - When there is an existing course that matches the requirement of the submitted course request.
Follow the steps below to tag an existing course to a submitted course request:
- Navigate to Operations
- Select LMS
- Select Course Request tab
- Use the checkboxes to select the corresponding course request record (multiple requests can be selected).
- Click on the Tag Course button
- in the 'Tag Existing Course' popup, use the drop-down to select a course.
- Enable the 'Enroll users to the course automatically' (optional).
- Click on the Tag Course button to confirm.
A 'Course Tagging Report' popup will appear along with a success message. The record status will now display "Enrolled".
2. Add a New Course - When the organization must create a new course for the course request submitted.
Follow the steps below to initiate creation of a new course:
- Navigate to Operations
- Select LMS
- Select Course Request tab
- Use the checkboxes to select the corresponding course request record (multiple requests can be selected).
- Click on the Add New Course button
- In the 'Add Course' popup, select the type, course admin and fill in all mandatory information.
- Enable the 'Enroll users to the course automatically' (optional).
- Finally click Create
- You will be moved to the course creation tab, and the record will now display 'Processing' status.

If you wish to create the course later, you can close the tab and continue creating the course later from LMS > My Data > Courses and select the corresponding course which will be in a 'DRAFTED' state.
- Once the course is created and published. The corresponding employees will be notified, and once they are enrolled, the 'Request Status' will now display 'Enrolled' status.
