SCORM Compliance

What is SCORM in Zoho People?

SCORM stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model. In Zoho People, SCORM allows organizations to upload and distribute e-learning materials, such as documents, videos, and quizzes, in a standardized format. SCORM-compliant courses are bundled into a single zip file and can be uploaded directly into Zoho People's LMS, regardless of the authoring tool used to create them. By ensuring interoperability, training materials can be easily shared, reused, and tracked across different systems. Once a course is created in SCORM format, it can be uploaded and reused within LMS and there's no need to create for every new LMS course. It also helps you monitor how long the learner has taken to complete a course and how well they are perfoming.
Zoho People supports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 4th Edition.

What does SCORM Track?

SCORM primarily tracks the following:
  1. Time - How long the learner spent on the course.
  2. Completion - Whether the learner completed the course.
  3. Pass/Fail - Whether the learner passed or failed based on their answers.
  4. Score - The leaner’s score or percentage of correct answers.

How to add a SCORM Course in LMS?

  1. Go to LMS (from the left bar) > My Data > Courses.
  2. Select an existing course to add a SCORM course or create a new course.

  3. To add a SCORM course, within a module, click + (add icon) and select Scorm.

  4. Basic Info tab: Enter the name, maximum number of attempts allowed, final score display method and add the attachment file (zip file). Enable Mark file as mandatory, if you require the learner to view the file to complete the course.

  5. Lock Properties tabIf you wish to lock the course until a specific date or until a particular entity is completed, you can set this here.
  6. Resources tabAdditional resources can be uploaded here.
  7. Click Save.

  8. Course administrators can track learners progress by checking the completion status of each module. They can also mark module elements as completed for learners if needed.
Administrators can manually mark course elements as completed for learners, ensuring a smooth course completion process.

If a learner wants to preview the course,
  1. Go to LMS (from the left bar) > My Data > My Courses.
  2. Select the course you want to preview.

  3. After opening a SCORM file, the course preview will appear as shown in the screenshot below:

  4. If the maximum number of attempts is set to 10 and the user has attempted and failed once, when the learner reopens the file from the module, a popup will be triggered. To retake the course, select Proceed and complete it.
