What is Data Administration in Zoho People?

Data administration operation grants the administrator access to view import and export logs, activity logs, create data backups, copy customization between accounts, or create and manage sandboxes.



Import / Export / Activity Log

Zoho People automatically logs data imported into the system as well as data exported from the system. Additionally, any edits, data additions, or configuration changes are also logged and are viewable from the Activity Log page.

Activity logs can be exported (Operations > Data Administration > Activity Log > Export icon). Exported file will be received via email and will be password-protected. Export action will also be logged. If any filters are applied, the exported data will also reflect the same. Learn more about Activity Log.

Data Backup

Data Backup, as the name suggests, facilitates Zoho People data backups. It can be run manually or automatically based on schedules. For help with restoring data backups, contact support@zohopeople.com. Learn more about Data Backup.

Recycle Bin

The Zoho People Recycle Bin feature retains deleted records for 30 days, allowing users to restore them if needed. This reduces the risk of losing important records due to accidental deletion. Learn more about Recycle Bin.

Sandbox

The Sandbox feature lets you create a secure virtual environment that allows you to test changes to forms, settings, workflows, and data without impacting the organization or the real live data. This can help administrators experiment with changes, ensuring a working implementation with the desired outcome before moving changes to the production environment, which can impact all users. Copy Customization
