The Data Backup feature in Zoho People allows you to securely transfer your organizational data from Zoho People servers to your own servers. These backups include form based data (Employee Information, Leave, Performance, etc.) and files from your Zoho People organization account. You can schedule backups to ensure your data is automatically saved at regular intervals without needing any manual effort.
- Data backup feature is only available for the enterprise plan. Other Plan users can manually back up the data of each form using the export option, navigate to Operations > Select the Service > Select the required form > Click the Ellipsis > Choose the Export option.
- A maximum of 5 backups can be done in a month.
- Only the last 7 backups will be available for download via the links sent to your email
- Time Logs, Timesheets and Attendance data are not included in the automatic backup. To back up this data, you must manually back up using the export option on the Operations page.
The backup data is securely delivered to your email address and is protected with a password. The password required to access the backup file will be included in the backup email.
To back up the data immediately or schedule the backup:
- Navigate to Operations > Data Administration > Data Backup.


- The following data backup options are available:
- Backup Now: Use this option for an immediate backup.
- Weekly: Use this option to schedule backup every week.

- Every 2 Weeks: Use this option to schedule backup every 2 weeks.

Monthly: Use this option to schedule backup every month.
For the monthly backup option, you can either choose a day option to schedule the backup based on a particular week and day of the month, or select a specific date to trigger the backup.
Once the backup is successful, a download link will be sent to your email address. Only the last 7 backups are available for download.
Backup Log
A backup log will be available on the right side of the data back up page, to view the history of completed and failed backups.
