Delegations Management | Zoho People

Delegation in Zoho People allows employees to temporarily assign their approval responsibilities to another user for a defined period. This ensures that workflows such as leave approvals, requests, and other actions continue without interruption when the original approver is unavailable. Delegation is especially useful during situations like travel, leave, or extended absence, helping organizations maintain smooth and timely workflow processing.

Setting Up A Delegation

Follow these steps to setup a delegation in a Zoho People:
  1. Go to Home > My Space > Delegation > Add Delegation
  2. Under Delegator, select the person who is going to delegate the approvals.
  3. Under Delegatee, select the person to whom the approvals are going to be delegated.
  4. Under Type, select either Temporary or Permanent. If you select Temporary, select the Date Range applicable.
  5. Under Notification, choose either Delegator and Delegatee or Delegatee. If Delegator and Delegatee is chosen, all approval messages will be sent to both Delegator and Delegatee. If Delegatee is chosen, approval messages will not be sent to the Delegator, only the Delegatee will get it.
  6. Under Description, information regarding the approvals can be mentioned.
  7. Click Save.
