Import Customers from Zoho Finance Suite Apps

Users with Finance permission and Client permission can import customers directly from the Zoho Finance Suite apps (Zoho Books & Zoho Invoice). This can be done at an org level or within a project. Along with customers, the associated contacts will also be imported. 
Customer and contact data is a two-way sync between Projects and Books. Create, Update, & Delete operations performed on contacts and update & delete on Customers will be synced. 

Import Customers to the Portal

  1. Navigate to setup (  ) in the upper-right corner of the Zoho Projects screen.
  2. Click on Manage Users in the left navigation panel and then click on Client Users. 
  3. Click more actions () in the upper-right corner of the Manage Users section. 
  4. Click on Import from Zoho Books. 
    This option might differ based on the Zoho Finance Suite app that's integrated with the portal.

  5. Select the customers that need to be imported. 
    Alternatively, search for customers using the search box. The search supports customer name, email, and phone options. 

  6. Click Import Customers button. 
  7. If a customer with the same name already exists, users will be prompted to either Merge or Clone the customers. 
  8. The user will be taken to the client user page after import. 

Import Customers to a Project

  1. Navigate to a project and select the Users tab from the top navigation band. 
  2. Select Client User from the user type drop-down.
  3. Click more actions () in the upper-right corner.
  4. Select Import from Zoho Books. 
    This option might differ based on the Zoho Finance Suite app that's integrated with the portal.

  5. Select the customers to import. Please note, only the customers having the same currency as that of the project will be enabled for import. 
    Alternatively, search for customers using the search box. The search supports customer name, email, and phone options. 
  6. Click Import Customers button. 
  7. If a customer with the same name already exists, users will be prompted to either Merge or Clone the customers. 
  8. The user will be taken to the client user page after import.
