Whiteboard for Zoho Projects

Whiteboard for Zoho Projects is an integrated tool for visual collaboration accessible through all attachment pickers. It enables users to create and share ideas directly within various modules, including Projects, Phases, Task Lists, Tasks, Issues, and Feed's Attachments.

Notes
Whiteboard comes pre-installed and enabled in your portal by default.

Benefits

  1. Use shapes, text, and images within Whiteboard to visualize concepts easily.
  2. Invite project users as editors to collaborate in real-time.
  3. Export your whiteboard as an image for offline access and sharing.
  4. Access all the attached Whiteboards from the Documents section within your Projects.

 Create Whiteboard within Tasks 

  1. Navigate to the Tasks module in your project.
  2. Open the task details page and navigate to the Documents section.
  3. Click Attach Files, then select Whiteboard.
  4. Enter the Whiteboard title and invite users to collaborate by adding them as editors.
Notes
Client users and read-only users cannot be added as editors.

    1. Add Shapes to create mind maps, flowcharts, and various other diagrams.
      1. Insert: Click  in the toolbar to add geometric shapes. Toggle Fill on to color shapes or off to keep them as outlines.
      2. Edit: Select a shape to cut, copy, change, insert a hyperlink(web URL or tooltip), or delete the shape. Alternatively, right-click on the shape to access these options. To bulk edit, hold the Shift key on your keyboard and select two or more shapes to cut, copy, or delete.
      3. Customize: Access the customization bar on the right. Click  to fill the color; click  to choose different outlines and colors; click to change text style, font, and color if text is added to the shape, and click  to arrange shapes.
    2. Add Text for clear communication and organization, such as labels, descriptions, and more.
      1. Insert: Click to add text in bulleted or numbered lists.
      2. Edit: Select the text to cut, copy, change shape, insert hyperlink(web URL or tooltip) or delete the text. Alternatively, right-click on the text to access these options. To bulk edit, hold the Shift key on your keyboard and select select two or more pieces of text to cut, copy, or delete. 
      3. Customize: Access the customization bar on the right. Click   to choose the background color, click    to choose different outlines and colors, click   to change text style, font, and color, and click  to adjust the text positions.
    3. Add Images for visual context, such as for illustrating concepts, providing examples, and more.
      1. Insert: Click  to insert images into the whiteboard.
      2. Edit: You can cut, copy, change the image, insert a hyperlink (web URL or tooltip), or delete the image. Alternatively, right-click on the image to access these options. To bulk edit, hold the Shift key on your keyboard and select two or more images to cut, copy, or delete.
      3. Customize: Click  to choose different outlines; click  to crop the image or fit it to a shape, and set image transparency, and click  to adjust the image position.
5. Draw freely with the pen or marker to create diagrams, sketches, and annotations.
    1. Click  to use Pen. Toggle Shape Recognition for cleaner geometric shapes. Adjust line size as needed.
    2. Click   to use Marker. Select from various sizes.
6. Click Attach as Whiteboard to attach it to the task or click the drop-down next to it and click Attach as an Image to save it in PNG format.

Navigate to Calendar > Open an Event or a Meeting > Click Comments > Attach Files / Whiteboard and select Whiteboard.


Manage Whiteboard 

  1. Navigate to the Tasks module in your project.
  2. Open the task details page and navigate to the Documents section.
  3. Click Attach Files, then select Whiteboard.
  4. Click to clear the whiteboard or export it as an image.
  5. Click and  to undo and redo, respectively.
  6. Before attaching the Whiteboard to the task,
    1. Click  to edit tthe whiteboard. 
    2. Click  to rename the whiteboard.
    3. Click  to delete the whiteboard.

Disable Whiteboard

  1. Click   in the top-right corner.
  2. Click Marketplace, then select Installed Apps.
  3. Navigate to the Whiteboard and click Disable.
    1. To re-enable it, click Enable.
Notes
Whiteboard can only be enabled/disabled by the portal owner.

Hello, nice news ! However, I cannot find it on my environments in .com and .eu DC. Perhaps there is a limitation somewhere ?

Instead of making a Zoho Projects specific extension, it would be great if Zoho could make an app like Miro for Zoho Workdrive and then seamlessly integrate Zoho workdrive with Zoho Projects. Releasing this app as a workdrive app would benefit more users IMO.

I agree with Damien! 

 They actually created an app called https://www.vanihq.com/, but it's totally separate and not part of Zoho One. I'm not sure why they did that.

@David thank you for sharing this new Zoho app. I do no understand why this is stealth mode, and why we are server a sub par app in project while they have a product that would better suit our needs.
