Tracking Organization Activities Using Audit Logs
Projects involve multitude of activities from various stakeholders. This also involves, creating, updating, and deleting information as the projects progress through their life cycle. It becomes important to track the actions to ensure accountability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Zoho Projects allows users to interact directly and indirectly with data to pull the projects and their associated activities through various stages until they are complete. These could be direct actions like creating, updating, and deleting or indirect actions that are triggered using various automation tools like blueprints, workflow rules, custom function etc. Keeping track of these changes becomes necessary to ensure sanctity of project data.
The Audit Log feature can only be accessed by the portal owner.
- Date & time of the event/action.
- Name of the user who performed the action
- The name of the entity or work item that's being acted upon.
- Project name
- Name/Title of any auto trigger (scheduled exports, workflow rules, blueprints etc)
- All create operations
- All update operations
- All delete operations
- All data export operations
- Integrations & extensions: install, uninstall, enable, & disable actions.
Access Audit Log
- Click
in the upper-right corner of the top navigation band. - Navigate to Data Administration > Audit Log.
- Click Prev or Next arrows to view logs for the previous day or the next day with activities in the portal.

- Hover over the audit entry and click on the highlighted entity to directly access the project, phase, task list, task, or issue.
Filter Audit Logs
Audit logs can be filtered by Users, Actions, & Date.
- Click
in the upper-right corner of the top navigation band.
- Navigate to Data Administration > Audit Log.
- Click on the filter icon (
).
- Select the desired criteria and click Find.

Export Audit Log
- Click
in the upper-right corner of the top navigation band.
- Navigate to Data Administration > Audit Log.
- Click on the Export as CSV icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select if you want to encrypt the file.
- An email with the download URL will be sent once the download is complete
