Task Settings

The Task Settings under Project Configuration lets you modify the default settings at a project level. This will override the portal level setting for a particular project alone.
  1. Click   in the top navigation panel.
  2. Navigate to Project Configuration > Task Settings.
  3. Select a project from the drop-down.
  4. Modify the Project Level Task Dependency settings as required.
Moving up Due Dates: The successor task due date will shift by equal number of days if the due date of the predecessor task is moved ahead
Extend Due Dates: The successor task due date will shift by equal number of days if the due date of the predecessor task is extended
Completing / Reopening a Predecessor Task: When the predecessor tasks is completed on any date other than the actual due date or reopened, update the successor task schedule accordingly
Default Dependency Type: Set the default dependency for the project.
Dependency Link Type: Set the default dependency link type: Hard link or Soft link. When a dependency is created the default link type is automatically sets for the new dependency created.
    1. Hard Link: Successor task dates and completion are strictly enforced by the predecessor. Any delay or incomplete status in the predecessor automatically shifts the successor task schedule.
    2. Soft Link: Successor tasks retain a dependency on the predecessor but are not forced to shift. Changes in the predecessor do not automatically affect successor task dates or completion.
