Generate API keys in Zoho QEngine

1.  Overview

Zoho QEngine provides secure methods to authenticate its interactions with external services. To facilitate this, QEngine supports API key generation, allowing users to create unique keys for secure communication between external services and QEngine. This document explains the process of generating API keys for use with external services.

2. Steps to generate an API key

  1. Navigate to Setup > API Keys. Click +Generate API Key.

  2. Give it a name and click Generate to create a new API key.

  3. Click Copy API Key.

  4. Once you've copied the API key, click Done.
Notes
Note:
  • To ensure security, the generated key is available for copying only once.
  • Save this API key securely because it's sensitive and won't be accessible again once this window is closed.

3. Managing API keys

To edit or delete created API keys:
  1. Navigate to Setup > API Keys. Here you'll see the list of all saved API keys.

  2. Hover over the required API key.

    • Click the Edit icon to update the API key name. Then, click Save to update the changes.

    • Click the Delete icon to delete the API keys created.

Notes
Note: A key might be in use by other external services. Before making any changes, identify where the key is currently being used. If necessary, update all instances with the newly regenerated key to avoid service disruptions or potential errors.
