Parser Mapping in Zoho Recruit

Recruiters often work with large volumes of resumes and job descriptions, manually reviewing each document to find relevant details like skills, experience, or role requirements. This process can be slow, repetitive, and prone to human error. A parser helps automate this task by reading the uploaded documents, identifying key information, and extracting it as structured data.

Our Parser Mapping setuplets you decide how this extracted data is organized within your modules. Zoho Recruit uses DaXtra, a third-party parser, to extract information from resumes, and Zia, Zoho’s in-house parser, to extract details from job descriptions. The extracted data is then mapped to the right fields in Recruit, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all your records. To access the Parser Mapping page, go to Setup > Parser Management > Parser Mapping.

Notes
Note:
  1. Zoho Recruit uses DaXtra, a third-party parser, to extract information from resumes.
  2. Job descriptions are processed using Zia parser (in-house), which extracts key details such as title, location, and requirements.
  3. The extracted data is then populated in their appropriate fields as per your mapping.

Resume Parser Mapping

The Resume Parser converts uploaded resumes into candidate records by extracting details such as name, contact information, skills, and work history.

(1) Map Fields

Align your Candidate module fields with their corresponding parser fields.
  1. For example, map First Name → First name, Email → Email address, etc.
  2. You can configure mapping across multiple sections such as Basic Info, Address Information, Professional Details, and any other custom sections, fields or tabulars.

(2) Test the Parser

Upload a resume to check how your current field mapping works. Click Test Resume Parser to view a parsed preview and confirm that the extracted data aligns correctly with your configured fields.

NotesNote: Information in system fields is used for features like PhoneBridge and SMS Gateway and cannot be edited or updated.

Job Description Parser Mapping

The Job Description Parser allows you to create Job Opening records by uploa
ding job description documents, individually or in bulk. It automatically extracts information like job title, department, and location to help you create job openings faster.

(1) Map Fields

Map Zoho Recruit Job Opening fields to corresponding parser fields.
  1. For example, map Posting Title → Job title, Number of Positions → No. of openings, etc.
  2. Mapping is grouped into sections such as Job Opening Information, Address Information, and Description Information.

(2) Test the Parser

Upload a job description file and click Test Job Description Parser to see how your current mapping extracts job data.

NotesNote: Certain system fields cannot be edited as Zia uses them for Job–Candidate Matching.

Parsing Review

Parsing Review is an independent setting (available for both parsers) that allows you to review parsed data before adding it as a record.
  1. You can enable or disable it separately for Resumes and Job Descriptions.
  2. When enabled, parsed data is shown in a review screen where you can verify each extracted field.
  3. When disabled, parsed information is automatically added to Recruit as a new record.

Where is Parsing Review used?

Candidates Module
Job Openings
Import from Document and Paste the Resume
Import from Document and Paste the Job Description

Best Practices

  1. Test your parser configuration periodically using the Test Parser option.
  2. Enable Parsing Review when setting up or modifying mappings to confirm accurate data extraction.
  3. Update your mappings whenever you add new custom fields to the Candidates or Job Openings modules.
