Customize notification sounds

Zoho SalesIQ notifies you of various events through different sounds. Having different tones can help identify the message's priority without opening the menus or moving to the dashboard every time you get notified.

Adjust the volume or mute sounds

  • In the SalesIQ dashboard, click on the speaker icon at the top right to mute all incoming chat sounds, if muted click the muted speaker icon ( X through the speaker).
  • Hover over the speaker icon to view the volume slider, adjust the volume to the desired using the volume slider.

Set different ring tones

You can assign different tones for various events to ease the process of identifying them.
  1. In the SalesIQ dashboard, click on your profile picture to open the side drawer, now click on your name at the top to open your Profile Information page.
  2. In the Profile information page, click on Notification with a bell icon on the right side, next to the settings icon.

  1. Sounds are categorized into two, Visitor and Operator Events.
  2. By clicking the drop-down menu under each event, you can pick a tone for each. Choosing None would turn off sound for that event.
  3. All changes are updated automatically saved.

Visitor Events

These are the sound notifications, that plays when a visitor event is performed.
  • Incoming Visitor Chat: This sound starts to play when you get an incoming visitor chat requests.
  • Visitor About to Leave the Chat: This sound is played when a visitor is about to leave the chat session.
  • Chat response from Visitor: This sound is played when you receive a message in an ongoing chat.
  • End of Chat: This sound is played when a conversation ends
  • Visitor has left the Chat Session: This sound is played when a visitor leaves an ongoing chat session.
  • Visitor lands on the website: This sound is played when a visitor lands on your site.
  • Visitor leaves on the website: This sound is played when a visitor leaves your site.

Operator Events

These are the sound notifications, that plays when an operator event is performed
  • Chat transfer notification: This sound starts to play when you get an incoming chat transfer request from another operator.
  • Invitation for Group Support: This sound is played when you get invited by an operator to join an ongoing chat session
  • Chat Message from Colleague: This sound is played when you receive an internal chat from an operator
  • Message Board Chat Message: This sound is played when someone on your team adds a message to the portal-wide message board.
  • Assigned Missed visitor chat: This sound is played when a missed visitor chat is assigned to you.
  • Approval for Blocking IPs: This sound is played when you get an approval request to block an IP address.
  • Chat forwarded by the bot: This sound is played when a chat is transferred to you by a bot.

How do I import custom tone for incoming visitor chats?

Note: Custom tone is only supported for Incoming visitor chat event. 
To import a custom tone for incoming chats,
  1. Click on the tone dropdown of the Incoming visitor chat event and then scroll down to 'Add custom tone' option. 
  2. Now, browse and select the tone from your local files and Open/Save
  3. The imported tone will be listed along with default tones. Select the added custom tone to set it as the incoming chat tone. 

  1. File size should not exceed 1 MB.
  2. Only .mp3, m4a, and wav file formats are supported.
