Setting up the QR code channel (New)
The QR code channel allows customers to start a chat with your business instantly by scanning a QR code. This is especially useful for offline touchpoints such as stores, events, product packaging, posters, or printed materials, where visitors can’t click a link but can easily scan a code to reach you. Once configured, scanning the QR code opens the SalesIQ chat experience and connects customers directly to your team.
Installation
This section lets you generate and download a QR code that customers can scan to initiate a chat session with your brand.
To set up the QR code channel:
- Make sure the QR code channel is enabled using the toggle at the top.
- Select Download QR code to generate the QR code for your brand.
- Share the downloaded QR code across your offline or digital touchpoints such as store counters or reception desks, event booths or banners, product packaging, flyers, brochures, posters etc.
When a customer scans the QR code using their mobile device, the chat session opens instantly, allowing them to start a conversation with your team.

Personalization
The Personalization section lets you customize how the QR code chat experience looks and feels for visitors after they scan the code. These settings help you control the appearance of the landing page, launcher, and messenger so the experience aligns with your brand.
Landing page
When a visitor scans the QR code, they are taken to a landing page before the chat starts. This page acts as the entry point to the conversation and gives visitors context about your business.
In this section, you can personalize how the landing page appears and what information is shown to visitors.
- Landing page background: Choose a predefined background pattern or upload a custom image. This background appears on the landing page that opens after scanning the QR code.
- Messenger display info: Choose what identity should be displayed on the landing page:
- Company – Shows your organization’s name and branding
- Custom – Allows you to display custom information instead
- Display company logo: Enable this option to show your company logo on the landing page.
- Display company info: Enable this to display basic company information to visitors.
- Display company details: Enable this to show additional company details, helping visitors understand who they are about to interact with.

Launcher
The launcher is the chat icon that visitors tap on the QR code landing page to start a chat. In this section, you can choose how the launcher looks when customers access chat through the QR code.
- Default launcher: By default, SalesIQ provides a set of pre-designed launcher styles for QR-based chats. These ready-made designs help you quickly set up a clean and consistent chat entry point without any additional customization.
- You can choose one of the available default launcher styles, and the selected design will be applied immediately to the QR code landing page.
- Custom launcher: If you want complete control over how the launcher appears, you can switch to the Custom option.
- When Custom is selected, you can upload your own image to use as the launcher. This is useful when you want the chat entry point to match a specific brand asset, campaign design, or visual style.
Upload custom launcher icon
- Upload an image that will be used as the chat launcher.
- Recommended size: 50 × 50 px
- Supported formats: JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF
- Maximum file size: 1 MB
Once uploaded, this custom image replaces the default launcher and will be shown to visitors when they start a chat through the QR code.

Messenger
The Messenger defines the chat interface that opens when a visitor scans the QR code and enters the chat experience.
Homepage widgets
- Homepage widgets define the options available to visitors when the messenger opens. These widgets control what actions or resources visitors can access from the homepage, such as starting a chat, placing a call, or viewing help content.
- By default, the widget configuration from the Website channel is applied here. You can review this setup and make adjustments if needed for the QR code experience.
The available widgets are:
- Chat – Allows visitors to start a chat with your team.
- Call – Lets visitors initiate a voice call directly from the messenger.
- Articles – Displays knowledge base articles related to the selected departments.
- FAQs – Shows frequently asked questions with quick answers.
- Previous conversations – Allows returning visitors to view and continue earlier chat history.
Use the toggle next to each widget to enable or disable it.
Add widgets: Select Add widgets to open a side panel where you can include additional widget types on the messenger homepage:
- Image widget – Use this to highlight announcements, promotions, or visual messages before a chat begins.
- Video widget – Use this to display product demos, introductions, or feature walkthrough videos.
These widgets help you surface important content upfront, even before a visitor starts a conversation.
Note:
- The widgets configured for the Website channel are automatically replicated here.
- At least one widget must be enabled for the messenger homepage.
