Integration Overview
The Zoho Projects integration with SalesIQ allows you to convert visitor chats into tracked tasks and issues in your Zoho Projects organization. This helps ensure that customer requests and feedback are systematically managed and their progress is monitored for faster resolution.
By connecting conversations with project workflows, teams can collaborate more effectively and stay aligned without switching between applications.
Key features of the SalesIQ + Projects Integration
- Create tasks and issues from chats: Directly convert any significant message or the entire chat into a formal task or issue in Zoho Projects, right from SalesIQ's operator chat window.
- Keep notes and comments in sync: Ensure total context is maintained by automatically syncing notes added in SalesIQ to comments in Projects, and vice versa, keeping all communications fully aligned.
Prerequisites
- You must be the portal owner in Zoho Projects to integrate it with your Zoho SalesIQ account.
Setting up the Zoho Projects integration for SalesIQ
The following steps need to be followed to integrate your Zoho Projects account with SalesIQ:
- Log in to your Zoho SalesIQ account.
- From the SalesIQ dashboard, navigate to Settings > Integrations > Zoho Projects.
- Click on Add at the top right. This will add the integration and connect your Zoho SalesIQ account with your Zoho Projects organization.
- Once added, the connection details will be displayed in the Connect with your Zoho Projects account section.
Zoho Projects Configurations
Here, you can configure how notes and comments are synced between SalesIQ and Zoho Projects for tasks and issues.
Task:
- Update notes added in SalesIQ as comments in Projects: Notes added from the SalesIQ chat will be synced as comments to the corresponding task in Zoho Projects.
- Update comments added in Projects as notes in SalesIQ: Comments added to a task in Zoho Projects will be synced as notes to the associated chat in SalesIQ.
Issues:
- Update notes added in SalesIQ as comments in Projects: Notes added from the SalesIQ chat will be synced as comments to the corresponding issue in Zoho Projects.
- Update comments added in Projects as notes in SalesIQ: Comments added to an issue in Zoho Projects will be synced as notes to the associated chat in SalesIQ.
Zoho SalesIQ configurations
Here, you can map SalesIQ departments to projects in Zoho Projects to ensure tasks and issues are created in the appropriate project.
Map SalesIQ Departments to Projects in Zoho Projects
- You can select a project from Zoho Projects for each SalesIQ department.
- Tasks and issues created or associated from chats will be added to the mapped project.
Adding Projects Issues/Tasks from the Operator Chat Window
Once the integration is set up, you can create and associate tasks and issues directly from the operator chat window.
Create a task or issue for a chat
- In the operator chat window, navigate to the Zoho Projects section.
- You can choose to create a task or issue for:
- The entire chat: There are two ways to do this.
- Click on the Zoho Projects icon at the bottom. The options to add an issue or task will be displayed.
- You can also click on the menu icon (⁝) at the top right to add an issue or task.
- a specific message
- Choose to create a task or an issue.
- Enter the required details in the pop-up and click Add.
The task or issue will be created in Zoho Projects and automatically associated with the chat.
Associate an existing task or issue with a chat
- In the operator chat window, navigate to the Zoho Projects section.
- Click on Associate a task or issue with this chat.
- Select an existing task or issue from your Zoho Projects organization.
The selected task or issue will be associated with the chat and listed in the Zoho Projects section.
View tasks and issues associated with a chat
- In the Zoho Projects section within the chat window, view all associated items under:
- Tasks associated with this chat
- Issues associated with this chat
Any tasks or issues created from the chat or associated with it will be listed here.
- Notes added in the chat are synced as comments in Zoho Projects.
- Comments added in Zoho Projects are reflected as notes in the chat.
This ensures that all updates and discussions remain aligned across both platforms.
