How to create and manage data connections?

Data connections

Data connections help you pull in data from 15 Zoho applications powered by Zoho Flow, in addition to Feeds and URLs.

To import data from a URL:

  1. Click on the Data > Data Connection > Connect URLs.

To import data from other Zoho applications:

  1. Click on the Data > Data Connection > Connect Zoho Apps.
  2. From the Data Connection dialog box, choose the service you want to bring in data from.
  3. Click the Authenticate button.
  4. In the authentication window that opens, you'll be asked to Accept Zoho Flow's request to access data from the application you've chosen.
  5. Once the authentication is complete, choose the data that you want to import using the Data Connection dialog box.
  6. You can also fetch only the specific data from the desired service using the filter option. Click on the Filter option to filter data in the selected service by field.
  7. Once done, click Next.
Field - The field in which you wish to filter the data.
Condition - The condition based on which you wish to filter the data.
Value - The value you wish to be present in the filtered data.
  1. After you select data, you'll have to select a cell where the imported data will be displayed.
  2. You'll also have to specify whether you want to import data from the connected application Only Once and now, or Now and schedule periodically.
  3. If you've chose to import data Now and schedule periodically, you can choose how often to repeat the task.

  1. If there are more than 10000 records in a selected service, then only the recent 10000 records can be fetched.

A data link refers to the spreadsheet in which the data from the selected connection or service is fetched. To manage a data link:
  1. Click on the Data > Data Connection > Manage Connections > Data Links
  2. From the Data Link dialogue box, you can edit, delete, and refresh the data links.

To manage a connection:

  1. Click on the Data > Data Connection > Manage Connections > My Connections.
  2. From the Manage Connections dialogue box, you can view the number of data connections, data links created under each connection, status of the connection, and also revoke, reconnect or delete a connection.
  3. If you wish to delete a connection, click on the bin icon alongside the connection you want to delete.

To revoke authentication for a service:

  1. Click on Data > Data Connection > Manage Connections > My Connections
  2. From the Manage Connections dialogue box, you can revoke authentication by clicking the Revoke option beside a connection.

When I am pulling in data from a Zoho Form it splits any headers of the columns by commas ',' in the text. So for example if a Zoho Form question is:

'Are you, or any member of your family, involved in writing stories?'

Is split across three columns'
'Are you'
'or any member of your family'
'involved in writing stories?'

Is there a fix for this ? I don't want to have to remove commas from the questions I am asking.
