Importing spreadsheets to Zoho Sheet

Import a new spreadsheet

  1. From the listing page, click on the Upload button.
  2. From the drop down, select the option to Upload Spreadsheet.


  3. You can drag and drop files from your computer into the dialog box that pops up, or click on the dialogue box and browse for the spreadsheet that you want to upload.
  4. Alternatively, when you already have a spreadsheet open, you can click on the File menu, hover over the Import option and choose to import From Desktop/URL. 


  5. When the dialog box pops up, you can either drag and drop or browse for the files that you want to upload.

Import from cloud drives

  1. From the listing page, click on the Upload button.
  2. From the drop down, click on the option to Import From Cloud Drives.
  3. Zoho Sheet lets you import from Box, Dopboox, Google Drive and OneDrive. So click on the cloud drive that you want to import the spreadsheet from inn the dialog box that appears.
  4. After you've synced the cloud drive's account with your Zoho account, you will be able to import the spreadsheet you select from the dialog box from your other cloud drives.


Import as a new sheet, template or replace an existing spreadsheet

  1. Click on the File menu.
  2. Click on Import. 
  3. You can drag and drop files from your computer into the dialog box that pops up or click on the dialog box and browse for the spreadsheet that you want to upload.
  4. Once you select the file, select if you want to Import the file as a New Template, Replace current spreadsheet with the spreadsheet you import, or Import as a new sheet in the current workbook.


Importing a CSV file

  1. Click on the File menu.
  2. Click on Import.
  3. You can drag and drop a .csv files from your computer into the dialog box that pops up or click on the dialog box and browse for the .csv file that you want to upload.

  4. In the next dialog box, check for delimiters, decimal separators, thousands separators and other .csv settings. 
  5. Click on Next.
  6. Select how you want to import the CSV file. 



As a CSV file, you can choose to append the rows to the current sheet, or even replace data in a specific range. Apart from these, options like importing as a new spreadsheet, as a new template or replacing the current spreadsheet are all available while importing a CSV file.
