Use clipboard actions: cut, copy, paste and more

Clipboard is where you temporarily store data when you need to paste them into a different cell or a range. The copied text will remain copied until you copy a different cell or data.

How to cut, copy, and paste

To cut, copy, and paste:
  1. Select the cell you wish to copy or cut.
  2. Click Copy to copy the data in the selected range. Alternatively, click Cut   to clear the data from the range and store it in the clipboard for pasting.
  3. Select the cell you wish to paste the data into and click Paste 
 

How to copy formats from a cell

Use the format painter to copy formatting, such as font color, cell background, borders and more. You can copy all the formats from one cell and apply them to another.

To copy formats:
  1. Select the cell/range you wish to copy formats from.
  2. Go to the clipboard and click Format painter . The cursor will change to a Paintbrush icon .
  3. Select the cell you wish to transfer the formatting to.
