Track changes in your spreadsheet

What is version history?

Zoho Sheet automatically saves all previous versions of your spreadsheet. You can view, revert, or download any previous versions of the spreadsheet.
Audit trail is a similar tool that allows you to view all changes made to the spreadsheet, including the user's name, date, and actions such as renaming, formatting, resizing, and more.
 

How to view previous versions of a sheet

To view previous version:
  1. Click Review > View Version History .
  2. The older versions of the sheet will be listed in a menu.
  3. Click the checkbox near Highlight Changes to observe the modifications made between the last and the latest version of the sheet.
  4. Click the Settings icon at the top-right corner to filter out marked versions of your sheet and find versions faster.
  5. Select a version to preview and click on Changelog to view the changes made in that particular version.

How to restore a previous version of a sheet

To restore a previous version:
  1. Go to Review > View Version History
  2. From the list of saved versions, select the one you want to restore.
  3. Click Revert  to replace the current version.

How to create a new version of a spreadsheet

To create a new version of a spreadsheet:
  1. Go to Review > Create Version
  2. Name the version for future references on the window that appears, and click Create.

How to name a Version

To name a version:
  1. Go to Review > View Version History .
  2. In the Version History Panel, select the version you wish to name and click Mark this Version .
  3. Enter a suitable name for later references and click Ok.

How to download a Version

To download a version:
  1. From the Version History panel, select a version you wish to download.
  2. From the tool bar, click the Download option
  3. Click the Save as option to save a version as a spreadsheet or a new template.
