The Show iOS app allows you to animate objects in the slide. Using effects like spin, fade, and zoom in the slide, you can add a dramatic effect to your presentation and help the audience understand concepts better.
Types of animation effects
There are three types of animation effects available in the ANIMATE mode at the bottom pane:
- Entrance effects: Control the way your object enters the slide.
There are three sub-types of Entrance effects:
Breeze effects like Appear, Wheel In, and Wipe look simple and elegant on the slide
Glide effects like Bounce, Fly In, and Float In move gradually making gliding movements on the slide
Witty effects like Flip In, Swivel, and Spinner make swift and stunning movements on the slide
- Emphasis effects: Draw attention to your objects in the slide by highlighting them in a unique manner. Stress effects like Shake, Wave, or Spin make the objects look very prominent on the slide.
- Exit effects: Control the way your object leaves the slide.
There are three sub-types of Exit effects:
Breeze effects like Disappear or Fade are smooth effects which make the object gently wipe out of the slide area
Glide effects like Float Out or Fly Out move out of the slide with gliding movements
Witty effects like Spin and Swivel vanish from the slide with swift and unique movements
Apply animation effects in the slide
To apply an animation effect to an object in the slide:
- Select the object you want to animate and click the ANIMATE button on the top bar.

- Tap the type of animation effect you want to apply (Entrance, Emphasis, or Exit) at the bottom of the screen and click Add Animations.
For example, if you want your object to make an amazing entry, select Entrance, click Add Animations, and choose from the sub-categories (Breeze, Glide, or Witty). Similarly, you can apply Emphasis and Exit effects to an object by choosing the desired effect from the list.

- After you add the animation, you can perform the following functions on each effect using the Animate panel:
- Preview the animation: Click the Preview button next to the animation to preview the effect while you add or change them on the slide.
- Change to a different animation: Select the animation effect and click Change Animation to choose a different effect for the object. You can also adjust the Variant and Duration of the animation effect from the bottom pane.

Change the direction of animation
Every animation is set to move in a specified direction on the slide, but if needed you can change the direction of the effect based on the way you want the object to move in the slide.
To change the direction of an effect:
- Click the Variant list and choose a direction for the animated object to enter, move inside, or exit the slide. You can also click the Preview button to preview the effect.

Change the duration of the animation effect
Sometimes, you need to adjust the duration of an animation effect so that it matches with the pace of effects applied on other slides in the presentation. This can be done easily using the Show iOS app.
For example, the default duration of a Fade animation is half a second. You can increase or decrease this speed using the Duration slider.
To change the speed of an animation effect:
- Drag the Duration slider to increase or decrease the duration (number of seconds) of the animation effect for an object in the slide.

Swipe left in the animation cell to access the Delete button at the bottom pane and remove an animation effect applied to an object in the slide.
