Apply stroke, shadow and reflection to objects

Improve the overall aesthetics of the slide and create an impactful slide elements by adding a stroke, shadow or a reflection to it. Customize the color, size, and transparency of these effects using the various formatting options available in the Show app for iOS.

Stroke: Applying a border or an outline for the slide object will add emphasis to the element, making it stand out from the background.
Shadow: Applying a shadow effect to the slide object will create depth and dimension to the element.
Reflection: Applying a reflection effect to a slide object adds a mirror-like reflection beneath the element. 
  1. Tap on the required slide element: text, shape, table, image, video or chart.
  2. Tap Format. The formatting options will appear. 

Apply a stroke

  1. Toggle the Stroke switch.
  2. Tap Style to choose a border style for the selected object.


  3. Tap Color.
    To apply a color for the stroke, click here.
  4. Tap - and + next to Width to adjust the width of the stroke.
  5. Tap More Options.
  1. Line Join: Refers to how the corners of the shapes appear when connecting two line elements. They are classified into miter, round and bevel joins. Tap the options next to Line Join to sharpen or soften the borders.
  2. Line Cap: Refers to how the endpoints of the shape appear. They are classified into butt, round and square caps. Tap the options next to Line Cap to define the end cap of the border.
  3. Use the Transparency slider to adjust the transparency of the border.


Applying a stroke to the below slide elements is not supported
  1. Silhouettes
  2. Audio

Apply a shadow

  1. Toggle the Shadow switch.
  2. Tap Outer or Inner to select a shadow effect for the object.

    Outer Shadow: The shadow appears outside of the object creating an illusion that the object is lifted off the surface.
    Inner Shadow: The shadow appears inside the object creating a recessed effect.


  3. Slide the Angle slider to adjust the angle of the shadow.
  4. Tap Color.

  5. Tap More Options. The shadow options will appear.
    1. Slide the Distance slider to increase or decrease the distance of the shadow from the object.
    2. Slide the Blur slider to increase or decrease the blurriness of the shadow against the background.
    3. Slide the Transparency slider to increase or decrease the transparency of the shadow.

Applying a shadow to the below slide elements is not supported
  1. Table cell
  2. Chart elements
  3. Audio

Apply a reflection

  1. Toggle the Reflection switch.
  2. Slide the Size slider to adjust the size of the reflection.
  3. Slide the Distance slider to adjust the distance of the reflection.
  4. Slide the Transparency slider to adjust the transparency of the reflection.

Applying a reflection to the below slide elements is not supported
  1. Lines and Connectors
  2. Table cell
  3. Chart elements
  4. Audio
  5. Videos
