Edit Animation Order Properties


All the animation effects applied to your slide along with start, duration, delay time, and the sequence of occurrence of each effect in the order they are applied can be found under the Animation Order present at the bottom of the Animate mode. These properties can be modified or adjusted from here, which are especially useful when you have a lot of objects moving around and when you want to sync their timing by deciding when to start the animation, when to set a delay between two animations, and when to reorder the list of effects.

How to Start an Effect

By default, all the effects begin to play when you click the mouse or press the next arrow on the keyboard during the slideshow. If you have multiple effects, then you would have to click multiple times to start each effect individually.  In order to avoid clicking the mouse every time,  you can choose to change the start options from On Click to With Previous or After Previous under the Animation Order. 
 
To start an effect,
  1. Select the effect on under the ANIMATE mode in the right pane and click Animation Order at the bottom. You will see a list of all the effects applied on the slide.

  2. Click on Start and choose how you want to start the effect from the drop-down list. There are three ways to start the effect:
  • Start On Click - Begins the animation when you click the mouse, press the space bar, or press the right or down arrow button on the keyboard. By default, the animations you apply take this option.

  • Start With Previous - Begins the animation at the same time with the previous effect in the list.

  • Start After Previous - Begins the animation immediately at the end of  the previous effect in the list. To preview the change, click Preview  button at the bottom.

While using the With Previous or After Previous buttons, you can use the Delay By option to count the amount of time that passes before the effect plays. 

Change Effect's Speed or Duration

The speed of the animation effect indicates how long the effect plays on the slide. You can change the default speed for each effect using the Duration option. 

To set the duration,
  1. Select the effect you want to set a delay under the ANIMATE mode in the right pane and click Animation Order at the bottom. You will see a list of all the effects applied on the slide.

  2. Set the duration in the Duration box using the Up and Down arrows to increase or decrease the value or type in the number in the text box.

Set a Delay Time

Sometimes you may want to have delay set between the end of one animation and the start of a new animation effect to explain key points in your presentation. This time delay can be set using the Delay By option.
 
To set a delay time,
  1. Select the effect you want to set a delay under the ANIMATE mode in the right pane and click Animation Order at the bottom. You will see a list of all the effects applied on the slide.

  2. Set the delay time in the Delay By box using the Up and Down arrows to increase or decrease the number of seconds or type in the number of seconds in the text box.

To preview the change, click Preview  button at the top-right.

Sort Animation Effects

A list of all the animations applied in the current slide will be available under the Animation Order pane. This pane contains the start, duration, delay time, and the sequence of the occurrence of each effect in the order they were applied on the slide.
 
To sort the animations,  
  1. Just drag and drop the animations "up or down" in the order you want them to appear.
You can Preview the effect using  button or Delete the animation effect using the  button from the list.
