• Solid fill applies a single color uniformly within the whole of an object.  
  
• Gradient fill applies a continuous blend of two or more colors, where one color gradually fades and changes into another. 
  
• Picture fill applies a tile pattern or image as an object background.
  
• Pattern fill applies a two-colored design, comprising dots, cross-hatch, stripes, checks, and more, along with options to choose foreground and background colors for your pattern. 
  

Apply a solid fill

1. Select the Shape tab within the pane, click the Fill dropdown and choose Solid Color. 
   
   
   
   Now, click the color palette icon and choose a color. 
   
   
   

1. Theme Color  is a set of colors based on the active theme applied to your presentation. 
   
2. Standard Color  is a set of 10 colors most often used other users. 
   
3. Other Used Colors is a set containing the colors you have most recently used. 
   
4. Advanced Color Palette  comes with several color schemes that lets you edit the color palette to match your brand and company. 
   
   
   

Apply a gradient fill 

Select the Shape tab within the pane, click the Fill dropdown and choose Gradient Colors. 

       

1. Click the color palette and choose the preset gradient color from the top band.  
   
   
   
   You can further choose lighter or darker shades of the preset color that you want to apply from the Gradient gallery.  
   
   
   
   
2. Now, click Style dropdown to choose a gradient style. There are three types of Gradient Styles available: 
   

• Linear: A linear gradient tends to be the most common, where two or more colors will appear at opposite points along the horizontal or vertical diagonals of the slide and will blend into each other.
  
• Radial: A radial gradient will create an effect where the transition between two or more color stops will be in a circular pattern with the colors starting from a center position, and then merging into other colors towards the edge of the slide.
  
• Angular: An angular gradient will create an effect where the transistion between two or more color stops will appear based on the direction and different angle values set using the rotating handle.
  
  
  
  
  
  

1. Once you choose the gradient style, you can make further changes to the gradient style using the following options:
   

• Apply Gradient Colors -  Choosing your Gradient Colors is similar to  making a color selection for Solid Fill, except that the gradient color you select will be applied to a portion of the slide instead of the complete slide. 
  
  

1. Select the desired Start or Stop handle on the Gradient Scale.
   
   
   
   
2. Click the Color dropdown to choose the color you want.
   
   
   

1. Add, delete, and edit gradient points - Add new gradient points, edit their color/transparency, and remove them from the Gradient Scale as you wish. 
   
   
   
   To add or delete a gradient point, 

• Click a location on the Gradient Scale or the Plus  icon above the scale. 
  
• Drag and move the points over the scale.
  
• Click the Minus  icon to remove the selected point.
  
  
  

• Click the handle of the gradient point below the gradient scale.     
  
• Change the gradient color or adjust the transparency.                       
  
• Set Gradient angle - Gradient angle lets you set the direction/angle/starting point of the gradient color within your slide. 
  
  
  
  To set the gradient angle:
  
  
• Click a gradient point on the Gradient Scale.
  
• Enter the required angle of rotation in the Gradient Angle  box.
  
  
  
  
• Adjust Gradient Transparency - Adjust the transparency of each gradient point using the Transparency Slider so that your slide is visible through the applied gradient.
  
  
  To do this, enter a percentage of transparency in the Transparency box, or use the slider to set the transparency. You can vary the percentage of transparency from 0% (fully opaque, the default setting) to 100% (fully transparent).         
  
  

Apply a picture fill

1. Choose the shape, picture, text box, or any object to add a picture. You will see the FORMAT mode on the right pane.  
   
   
2. Select the  Shape tab within the pane, click the Fill dropdown and choose Image. 
   
   
   
   
3. Choose an image from Media. 
   
   
   
   The image will appear as a fill on the slide. 
   
   
   
   You can also click Change Picture to add your own picture using the Image gallery on the Insert section. 
   
   
4. Once you choose the type of picture fill you wish to use, you can make more changes to the picture fill using the following options: 
   

• Adjust Picture Fill Alignment - Adjusts the alignment of the picture fill within the slide in two ways. This option is visible when you uncheck the Tile Image checkbox. There are four offset adjustments (left, right, top, and bottom) available in percentage values that enable you to adjust the picture edges along the slide edges. 
  
  
  Tile Image - If you want the picture used as a fill to be tiled, select the  Tile Image  checkbox below the Change Picture button. By using this option you can make any picture behave like a texture. When deselected, this checkbox ensures that your selected picture is used as a  picture fill and stretches throughout the slide.
  
  
  
  
  There are four ways to move the starting point of the tile texture within the slide: Offset X, Offset Y, Scale X and Scale Y.
  
• Offset X and Offset Y balance the alignment of the fill within the slide. 
  
• Scale X and Scale Y change the size of the fill horizontally and vertically. 
  
  
  

• Change the picture fill  - Click  Change Picture , choose the location of the picture that you want to use, and click the Insert  button.
  

  
  

  
  
  
  
• Set Picture Transparency - Enter a percentage of transparency in the Transparency box, or move the Transparency slider to reduce or increase the transparency of the slide's picture fill. You can vary the percentage of transparency from 0% (fully opaque, the default setting) to 100% (fully transparent). 
  
  

Apply a pattern fill

1. Select the Shape tab within the pane, click the Fill dropdown and choose Pattern. 
   
   
   
   Click the palette icon next to Fill. This will open the palette window, choose the Foreground and Background colors for your pattern.
   
   
   
   
2. Pick a design from the presets. 
   
   
   
   The selected pattern will reflect on the slide.    
   
   
   
   
3. Once you choose the type of pattern fill you wish to use, you can make more changes to it using the following options: 
   

• Foreground and Background options - Lets you further customize the colors for your pattern. 
  
  
• Rotate pattern within object - Rotates just the pattern fill within the object.
  
  
  
  Turn the rotation slider to set the desired rotational value (in degrees) or type in your rotational value within the text box. You can also use increments of 90 degrees to rotate your pattern. Clicking the   icon will rotate your object 90 degrees to the right and the  icon will rotate your object 90 degrees to the left. 
  
  
  
  
  
• Scale or adjust pattern's distance - Stretches (or shrinks) the pattern fill within the object and helps create unique pattern styles on the slide. 
  
  
  
  Use the Scale slider or enter a distance value (in pixels) in the text box to increase or decrease the distance between the pattern fills. Note that scaling does not apply to the size of the object.
