Meta Threads, also simply known as 'Threads', is a text-based social media platform that was introduced by Meta in 2023. Users can share information like text, images, and videos, and initiate and be a part of discussions. The integration of this platform with Instagram makes it easy for followers synchronization, and to share content. This text-sharing application makes it easy for you to have real-time conversations with fellow Threads users, making it an engaging platform to discuss current events and other trending topics.
You can publish your content in the form of individual posts in Threads similar to sharing content on your X handles. The possibility of sharing information in the form of threads gives you more space to be creative and narrate your story in an interesting manner in order to hold your audience's attention until the end.
By leveraging the user base of Instagram, Threads aims to bring more users to the platform, and to build a community of active social media users who are ready to share real-time content with their followers.
With Threads in Zoho Social, you can publish or schedule, and monitor your threads' engagement directly from the dashboard. Feature Availability
Threads is available for plans Standard, Professional, Premium, and Agency editions.
Connecting your Threads account in Zoho Social
- You must have an Instagram account to create a Threads profile.
- Any changes to your Instagram username are also reflected in your Threads' username.
To connect your Threads account to Zoho Social, you must have an Instagram account to start with. Once you log in and connect Threads, you can start publishing from Zoho Social right away.
To connect Threads in Zoho Social
- Go to Settings -> Social Channels and click Connect next to Threads Profile.
Alternatively, you can also click the Threads icon in the Add more channels section under Brand Health to start connecting.
- Log in to Threads by providing your Instagram username and password, or you can authorize to continue via Instagram.
- Click Edit access in the permissions pop-up to edit the permissions that you want to provide to Zoho Social.
- Go on to provide permissions for Zoho Social to access, publish, and monitor the stats of posts from the Threads profile by clicking Continue as <username>.
- The Access and display your Threads information and posts permission is mandatory, whereas the other permissions are optional. If you disable any of the other permissions, you won't be able to do the other functionalities like publishing or monitoring the post stats for the posts in Social.
- If you've already connected Threads to Zoho Social earlier, when you disconnect it and try connecting again, you won't be able to modify any permissions.
To modify existing permissions, you have to remove Zoho Social's permissions from your Threads account and authorize it again. Go to Settings-> Account -> Website permissions and click Remove next to Zoho Social.
Publishing Threads from Zoho Social
Once you've connected your Threads profile to Zoho Social, you will be able to publish or schedule any type of content like images, videos, and text to your profile.

Other Limitations
- Text posts are limited to 500 characters.
- Carousel posts must have a maximum of 10 and a minimum of 2 media files.
To publish posts to Threads profile
- Click New Post in the top-right corner of your Social dashboard to start composing.
- Choose the desired channels you want to publish on depending on whether you want to publish the content only to Threads or to multiple channels.
- Click to attach images or a video to your post. You can attach the media file from your Desktop, Media Library, Cloud Picker options like Zoho Workdrive, Google Drive, box, OneDrive, Dropbox, Evernote or Zoho Notebook, or you can design the image on Canva and attach it directly.
- Write a suitable caption for your post. You can use the Compose with Zia feature to draft a suitable caption for your post just by giving a prompt.
- Click Hashtag Groups icon to attach hashtags to the caption.
- Click Add emojis icon to add emojis to the caption.
- Publish the post immediately using the Post now option, or schedule it using any of the available scheduling options like Schedule for a Specific Date, Add to Queue, or Choose a SmartQ slot.
View posts
You can view your drafts, published, scheduled, unpublished posts, posts awaiting approval, and your planned Social calendar under the Posts tab.
The post metrics available for Threads profile are:
- Likes: The number of likes the post has received
- Replies: The number of replies the post has received.
- Reposts: The number of times the post has been reposted.
- Quotes: The number of times the post has been reposted along with an accompanying post.
- Engagement: The total engagement received for the post.
- Views: The total number of views received for the post.
- Engagement Rate: The percentage of engagement received over the number of views.
- Engagement: Visual representation of the total engagement received.
To monitor Post Stats
- Go to the Posts tab. Under Published Posts, click your Threads profile.
- In the list view of published posts, click the post you want to see the statistics for.
- Click the Post stats tab to view the engagement received for the post.
