Video and Image Optimization

Video and image optimization

Imagine that you are a chef at a cafe and bakery chain, and you've worked on a recipe video to post on your social media channels. It's a classic recipe for making some fudgy brownies, and you’ve spent a great deal of time and effort perfecting the visuals, whether it's a beautifully edited video or a high-quality image of the final dish. It's ideal for you to upload this content accross channels you want to post to at the same time, so that the traction is received equally across platforms, and the content is consistent. However, as you're uploading, you realize that social media platforms have their own specific media requirements, and the same image or video doesn't suit every platform.  The same image or video may not fit every platform perfectly—dimensions, aspect ratios, and file sizes can vary.
This means that you have to edit the same content separately for individual platforms, to ensure that it will fit according to each network's requirements. That's a lot of time and effort for publishing your desired content.

To address this delay in time, and to make it easier for you to make the same video compatible for multiple platforms, Zoho Social has the Video and image optimization feature in the compose window. This process of making some adjustments and enhancements to your media file while still ensuring that it doesn't significantly affect the quality and making it compatible to post to all social media channels.

This also reduces the risk of having video playback issues and provides your audience with a smooth viewing experience. Zoho Social takes care of this entire process for you, without you having to worry about the tedious work.

During video optimization in Zoho Social, some or all of the following elements are adjusted depending on the network requirements:
  1. Video format - The video is adjusted to be in the appropriate format that is fit for all networks.
  2. Audio and Video codec - This ensures that the video and audio are encoded into a specific format, which can be decoded and played back later. This works on compressing the audio and video.
  3. Dimension - This ensures that larger dimensions of the video are compressed into smaller and more compatible ones.
  4. Size - The huge size of the video is reduced, so there is no delay in response or loading time.
  5. Audio and Video Bitrate - Optimizing bitrate will ensure that your video requires lesser network capacity and can play easily on any platform and device.
  6. Audio channel type: Converted to stereo - The audio is enhanced to a stereo mode as this provides listeners with a better listening experience and enhanced clarity.
  7. Frame rate - The frames per second (fps) will be adjusted according to the network requirements, while still ensuring that the look of the video isn't affected.
Notes
Video Optimization might cause a slight but negligible compression in the quality of your video.
Video limitations for using video optimization: Maximum size - 5 GB, Maximum dimensions - 5376 x 2024 or 3024 x 5376

Optimizing images

To optimize your image, you have two options to choose from:
  1. Black background – Adds a black frame around your image to match the required aspect ratio of the selected social media channel, without altering the original image.
  2. Skew background – Adjusts (stretches or narrows) your image to fit the required aspect ratio of the social media channel.
