How to edit a timer
Round time: The total time calculated can be rounded up to the nearest round value by clicking the Round Time option below the timer display. For example, when a timer stops at thirty minutes and fifty seconds, it can be rounded up to thirty-one minutes.
Duration adjustment: A fixed amount of time can be added or subtracted from the total time calculated by the timer. This can be done by clicking the + and - options below the timer display. The steps to set up duration time are explained below, in the settings section.
Timer display: The total time calculated can be edited by clicking on the time that is displayed after the timer is stopped. Choose the preferred hours and minutes and click Done.
Start time and End time: The total time calculated can also be edited by clicking the Start time and End time seen above the time display. You will be able to edit both date and time in these options.
After editing the time through any of the above options, the edited value will be calculated, adjusted, and shown in the timer display.
How to associate a timer with a task
A timer that is created inside a task or by swiping right on a task will be auto-associated with the particular task. For timers that are created from the + icon in the homescreen, they need to be associated with tasks manually. To do so:
- Click Associate to task below the timer display.
- Choose the task to associate.
A timer can be invoiced only when it is associated with a task. How to bill a timer to a customer
- The Billable option in a timer will be enabled by default. You can disable this option to make the timer non-billable.
- Hourly charges can be edited by clicking the Edit option adjacent to the charge (steps to set up hourly charges in the settings are explained below).
- Once done, the billable timer will be displayed with in the associated task and can be invoiced as an item along with other items in the task.
A task can have multiple timers associated with it, both billable and non-billable. When a task is invoiced with its timers, only the billable timers will be included, leaving out the non-billable ones. Therefore, a timer must be in a billable state to be invoiced with its associated task.
A task that has already been invoiced with existing timers can be invoiced again with newly added timers.
Setting options for Timer
To set Hourly Charges and Duration Adjustment in settings on iOS:
- Go to the settings icon in the top left corner of the homescreen and click Timer.
- Set hourly charges depending on the job and set duration adjustment anytime between 1 and 60 minutes.
To set Hourly Charges and Duration Adjustment in settings on Android:
- Go to the three dots in the top right corner of the homescreen and click Settings.
- Click Timers.
- Set hourly charges depending on the job and set duration adjustment anytime between 1 and 60 minutes.
Once all the details are filled in and a timer has been created, you can find the timer information, such as total time, billable and non-billable time, total amount, invoiced and non-invoiced amount, and list of all the timers associated with the task, inside the task.
