Clone project templates
You will be able to carry out the following actions based on your profile permissions. Click the Permission Helper at the bottom of the page to know your profile permissions.Clone an existing project to a template
You can also clone an existing project to a template.
- Navigate to Projects.
- Click the Create drop-down.
- Select Template.
- Enter the template details.
- Choose the project that needs to be cloned to the template.
- Click Add.
- All the upcoming sprints, work items in the upcoming sprints, project backlog, project configuration, custom work item type, custom priority, and custom status will be cloned to the template.
- All the active, completed sprints, and work items in the active and completed sprints will not be cloned.
Once you create a template, you can use it to duplicate new projects that carry the same set of work.
- Navigate to Projects.
- Click the Create drop-down.
- Select Project.
- Enter the project name, choose an existing template, and specify other details.
- Click Quick Create.

Once you clone the existing template to the project, all the existing data in the template will be cloned to the project.
