Screen Recording

Use screen recording sessions to replicate the issues facing you while using Zoho Survey with the support team. The session will capture key information required to debug an issue using the screen recording which contains the audio, server metrics, client-side metrics, console logs, network-related information and application log links for individual requests. 

Use Case:

Let's say you are a marketing professional using Zoho Survey to collect feedback responses for your brand's new smartphone. You are facing an issue while viewing the individual survey responses and finding it difficult to communicate it with the support team. In this case, you use the screen recording session to record the issue that you are facing in the survey and share it with the Zoho Survey support team, who look into the issue with much clarity and provide you with the best resolution.

To make a screen recording:


  1. Click the user info widget.
  2. Click Write to Us.
  3. Enter the required subject and message in the Subject and Message textboxes.
  4. Select the Record my screen to help the team understand and take necessary action quickly checkbox to display the screen recording option.
  5. Click Start Recording.
  6. Follow the upcoming browser options to begin the screen recording.
  7. Click and drag the  in the screen recording notification box to move it to your place of choice.
  8. Click Stop Sharing to stop the screen recording. The Write to Us window opens up.
  9. Edit the Subject and Message text boxes if required.
  10. Click Play in the Recorded Clip section to play the recorded video with the built-in player options like play/pause, maximise, download, change playback speed, view the video as a picture in picture and close.
  11. Click Edit to edit the recorded Clip to edit the video with the built-in player options.
  12. Click  to place a coloured box of your choice on any part of the video's frame to mask.
  13. Click  to place a coloured circle of your choice on any part of the video's frame to mask.
  14. Click  to place a text of your choice on any part of the video's frame.
  15. Once done, click Save.
  16. Click Continue Editing to continue editing the video.
  17. Click Close Editor to close the video editor window.
  18. To revert the changes, click Reset.
  19. Click .
  20. Click Record Again to record the video again.
  21. Click Delete Clip to delete the recorded video.
  22. Click Restore to restore the deleted video.
  23. Click Discard to discard the deleted video.
  24. Click Submit.

Behaviour:

  1. The maximum recording time for the session is 5 minutes.
  2. The following information will be collected during the recording session:
    1. IP address
    2. Browser console logs generated during the recording
    3. Device details like screen resolution, version of browser and operating system.
    4. Client-side performance metrics (DNS lookup time, TCP connection time, etc).
    1. A screen recording of the window or screen area that you specify.
    2. Audio recording during the screen recording. You may mute or rerecord the audio track before submitting it.
