Configure Webhooks in Zoho Tables

Webhooks let you send data from Zoho Tables to another app or service when an automation runs. You can use webhooks to connect your workflows with external services that accept HTTP requests.

Who can configure a webhook?

Base Editors and users with higher roles can add and configure webhooks in automations.

Add a Webhook to an Automation

  1. Open the base where you want to configure the webhook.
  2. Go to Automations.
  3. Create a new automation or open an existing one.
  4. Configure the trigger for the automation.
  5. Add the Call a Webhook action.

Configure the webhook

1. Choose the method

Select the HTTP method required by the receiving service:

  • POST — Use this method to send data to the receiving service, typically to create or submit information.
  • PUT — Use this method to send data to update or replace information at the specified URL.

Choose the method based on the API requirements of the service receiving the webhook.

2. Enter the URL

Enter the URL of the service that should receive the webhook request.

Make sure the URL is accessible and configured to accept requests from Zoho Tables.

3. Add headers

Add the headers required by the receiving service as key-value pairs.

You can add as many header parameters as required by clicking + Parameter.

For example, you can add headers for authentication or content type.

4. Add the payload

The payload contains the data you want to send to the receiving service.

You can configure the payload in either of the following ways:

Key-value pairs

Add data as individual key-value pairs. You can use values from the records involved in the automation.

Use this option when your request has a simple structure.

You can use the "+" button to the left of the value fields to include values from the record that triggered the automation or a summary of a field.

Raw JSON

Use Raw JSON when you need to send nested data or create a more complex webhook request structure.

You can include dynamic record values within the JSON payload as required with the "+" button to the top right of the json editor.
