Mark a Field as Health Info (ePHI)

When a field contains sensitive health information, you can mark it as Health Info to apply the protection policies configured for your portal. Once marked, the field is treated as ePHI, and the configured restrictions help control how its data can be accessed, copied, used, and shared.

Before you can mark a field as Health Info, ePHI must be enabled for your portal from the Admin Console. Learn how.

  • If you are a Portal Owner or Portal Manager, you can enable ePHI from Admin Console > Compliance.
  • If you don't have permission to enable ePHI, ask your Portal Owner or Portal Manager to enable it.
