Customizing Calendar Module Preferences in Trident (macOS)
In this article, we'll see how you can customize the Calendar module according to your preferences.
Customizing Calendar Grid View
In Trident, you can view your planned schedules in daily, weekly, monthly, or work-week views. To set any of these as the default view when you open Trident:
- Click your profile image on the top-right corner of the app.
- Select Settings from the menu list.
- Select Calendar.
- Go to Default view under the Calendar Preferences section.
- Select your preferred view from the drop-down menu.
Using Trackpad Gestures
You can use the following trackpad gestures to go to the next or previous days, weeks, work weeks, or months. You can also get a zoomed in or out view of the event listings.
Swipe from right to left: To move to the next day, work, or week view.
Swipe from left to right: To move to the previous day, work, or week view.
Pinch in: To zoom out and see the event listings in the day, work, or week views.
Pinch out: To zoom in and see the event listings in the day, work, or week views.
Viewing Concurrent Events
There are two ways in which concurrent events can be listed in the calendar grid: Overlap or Split. To configure this setting:
Click your profile image in the top-right corner of the app.
Select Settings from the menu list.
Go to Calendar > Calendar Preferences.
Choose between Overlap or Split from the Concurrent event display setting.
Overlap: Events are stacked on top of each other. | |
Split: Events are displayed side-by-side. |
Customizing the First Day of the Week
To customize the first day of the week in the Calendar module:
Click your profile image at the top-right corner of the app.
Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Go to Calendar > Calendar Preferences.
Select the desired day from the First Day of the Week drop-down option.
Customizing the Work-Week Schedule
To customize the starting and ending days of your work week:
Click your profile image at the top-right corner of the app.
Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Go to Calendar > Calendar Preferences.
Select the starting day from the Work-week start day drop-down option.
Similarly, select the ending day from the Work-week end day drop-down option.
To customize the starting and ending times of your work hours:
Click your profile image at the top-right corner of the app.
Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Go to Calendar > Calendar Preferences.
Select the starting day from the Work hours start time drop-down option.
Similarly, select the ending day from the Work hours end time drop-down option.
Customizing Event Settings
You can choose to set a default event duration and participant permission, so you need not specify them every time you create an event. To do so:
- Click your profile image on the top-right corner of the app.
- Select Settings from the menu list.
- Select Calendar.
- Go to Event Settings and customize the options described below.
- View only event details
- View participants
- Add participants
- Edit event
Note: Even after you've configured the default settings from Settings, you can customize them later while creating an event as required.
Showing and Hiding Calendars
By default, all of your calendars appear in the left pane. You can choose to show or hide them in the list view, making it easier to focus on the calendars that matter most.
To hide a calendar from the list view:
Hover over the calendar.
Click the Hide
icon next to it.
You can also hide the calendar from app settings:
Click your profile image in the top-right corner of the app.
Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Select Calendar.
Select the calendar type where the calendar you want to hide is listed.
Locate the calendar and toggle it Off.
Notes:
To view a hidden calendar, toggle the On button next to the calendar. The calendar will reappear in the list view.
In the Settings page, you can also easily switch the user account to view or hide calendars specific to that account.
Adding Zoho CRM App Calendar
With Trident's unified Calendar module, you can view all of your events from the supported Zoho apps. To view all of your calls, meetings, and tasks from Zoho CRM in Trident's Calendar module:
Click your profile image in the top-right corner of the app.
Select Settings from the menu list.
Select Calendar.
Go to App Calendars > Zoho CRM Calendars.
Toggle on the Zoho CRM Calendars option.
Managing CRM Calendar Preferences
All your CRM organizations will be listed under the respective logged in Zoho accounts. Here, you can:
Enable and disable CRM organizations.
Enable and disable CRM modules such as tasks, meetings, and calls, as well as customize their event color.
Reset the CRM calendar data to clear all CRM-related data in Trident and load them afresh from the Zoho CRM web app.
Notes:
The Zoho CRM Calendar integration in Trident directly imports all your calls, tasks, and meetings from the Zoho CRM web app and is independent of the Zoho CRM Calendar in the Zoho Mail web app.
When you disable any CRM organization or any of its modules, the corresponding events will not be listed in the Calendar module. You can instead choose to hide or show the events right from the Calendar module listing.
It's not possible to create and update events in the CRM calendar from Trident's Calendar module. You can only view the tasks, meetings, and calls created in the CRM eWidget in Trident and the Zoho CRM web app.
Syncing Trident and System Calendar
With the two-way sync between Trident and the system Calendar, all the events you create in Trident under the System Calendar will be available to view and manage in the Apple Calendar app on your macOS and iOS devices.
Click your profile image in the top-right corner of the app.
Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Go to Calendar > System Calendar.
Toggle on the Allow Trident to access system Calendar option.
Note: If this is the first time you're enabling system Calendar, you'll get an alert. Select Allow Full Access to view and manage all your events from the system Calendar in Trident.
On syncing the two calendars, you can then set the sync interval and whether to show denied events. To do so:
Select the sync interval from the drop-down in the Refresh interval option.
Toggle on the Show denied events in the calendar if you do not wish to hide the events you've declined to attend.
