Exploring the Types of Notifications
You can receive notifications in three ways:
- System Notifications: Notifications that pop up on your screen when you receive new emails or chat messages.
- In-App Notifications: Notifications within the app that offer insights into various updates, including email reminders, shared information via Streams, assigned tasks, and other time-sensitive details.
- Sticky Notifications: Timely notifications that remain sticky on your Mac's desktop until you act on them.
Managing System Notifications
Ensure that notifications for Trident are enabled in System Settings. Without this, even if the notification settings are turned on in Trident, you'll not be receiving any email or chat notifications.
To enable notifications for Trident on your MacBook:
- Launch System Settings.
- Go to Notifications > Application Notifications.
- Scroll down to find Trident from the list and click it open.
- Toggle the Allow notifications option on.
- Customize the notification experience with the following options:
- Show notifications from Trident on the Desktop, Notification Centre, and Lockscreen.
- Keep notifications on the screen temporarily or permanently.
- Show or hide badge application icon.
- Play or mute the notification sound.
- Choose when to show previews.
- Pick notification grouping style.
Enabling System Notifications for Emails
To enable system notifications for emails:
- Click your profile image at the top-right corner of the app.
- Select Settings from the menu list.
- Navigate to Notifications > Mail.
- Toggle the Get notifications for new emails option on or off.
Enabling System Notifications for Cliq Chats
To enable system notifications for Cliq chats:
- Click your profile image at the top-right corner of the app.
- Select Settings from the menu list.
- Navigate to Notifications > Cliq.
- Toggle the Enable Notifications for Cliq Chats option on or off.
Note: You can also customize whether or not to display message previews in notifications. You can enable or disable this feature by toggling the Desktop Notification Preview option.Viewing In-App Notifications
To view in-app notifications, click the Bell
icon in the top-right corner of the app. You can click it to open it and take contextual actions.
Enabling Sticky Notifications
To enable Sticky Notifications:
- Click your profile image in the top-right corner of the app.
- Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Select Notifications.
- In the Sticky Notifications section, toggle the Enable Sticky Notification option on.
Notes:
- When enabled, you will receive sticky notifications when you've set reminders for emails, calendar events, and tasks.
- You'll receive sticky notifications for all Zoho Mail accounts added in Trident.
- Sticky notifications will not be shown when Trident is in Do Not Disturb (DND) mode, but they will be shown when your Mac is in DND mode.
- When App Lock is in effect, sticky notifications will not appear. Instead, you'll receive the notifications via system notifications.
Disabling Sticky Notifications
To disable sticky notifications, toggle the Enable Sticky Notification option off.
Note: Disabling this option will dismiss all of the pending sticky notifications. Using Sticky Notifications
Sticky notifications give you contextual actions to help you act on the notifications right away. These are tabulated below.

To leverage these contextual actions, click the respective buttons or the notification itself.
Managing Sticky Notifications
When you receive sticky notifications, you can choose to snooze or dismiss one or all of them.
Snoozing Sticky Notifications
Snoozing a sticky notification will bring back the alert once the snooze period is up. To snooze a sticky notification:
- Hover over the sticky notification that you want to snooze.
- Click the Snooze
icon. - Choose the desired snooze duration from the menu list.

To snooze all of the sticky notifications, click open the Snooze All drop-down menu, and select the desired snooze duration.

Alternatively, you can click Snooze All. This will snooze them and bring them up after five minutes.
Dismissing Sticky Notifications
To dismiss one sticky notification, click the Dismiss
icon.
To dismiss all of the received Sticky Notifications, click Dismiss All, and select Dismiss All in the alert that appears.

Alternatively, you can close the Sticky Notification window to dismiss all of the sticky notifications.
Enabling Do Not Disturb (DND) Mode
Enabling Do Not Disturb (DND) mode in Trident will mute all the modules' notifications and alert sounds, and change your current Cliq status to "Busy".
To enable DND:
- Click your profile image at the top-right corner of the app.
- Select Do Not Disturb from the drop-down menu.
- Choose the desired time duration.
To enable DND from the Cliq home page:
- Click open the DND drop-down menu.
- Choose the desired time duration.
Alternatively, you can:
- Click open the current Cliq status drop-down menu below the New Chat button in the Cliq module.
- Select DND from the list of Default Status. This will set the DND to 15 minutes.
- To update the DND duration, scroll down to the Quick Status list.
- Click open the DND drop-down and select the duration.
