Maintaining a Clutter-Free Inbox in Trident (macOS)

Marking Emails as Spam

Trident automatically identifies spam and other suspicious emails and pushes them to the Spam folder. And you can also mark or unmark emails as spam to sort through your wanted and unwanted emails.

To mark an email as spam from the email list:

  1. Right-click the email. 
  2. Select Mark Spam from the menu list.

To mark an email as spam from the detail view:

  1. Open the email you want to mark as spam.
  2. Select Mark Spam from the toolbar.  

Alternatively, you can also:

  1. Click the More options  icon at the top-right corner of the email detail view.
  2. Select Mark Spam from the menu list.

Marking Emails as Not Spam

To mark an email as not spam from the email list:

  1. Navigate to the Spam Folder and hover over the email you want to mark as not spam. 
  2. Click the tick  icon. 

Alternatively, you can also:

  1. Right-click the email.
  2. Select Mark Not Spam from the menu list. 




To mark an email as not spam from the email detail view:

  1. Navigate to the Spam Folder and open the email. 
  2. Select Mark Not Spam from the toolbar. 

Alternatively, you can also:

  1. Click the More options  icon at the top-right corner of the email detail view.
  2. Select Mark Not Spam from the menu list. 

Archiving Emails

To archive an email from the email list:

  1. Hover over the email. 
  2. Click the Archive  icon.

Alternatively, you can also:

  1. Right-click the email.
  2. Select Archive from the menu list.

To archive an email from the email detail view:

  1. Open the email you want to archive. 
  2. Select Archive from the toolbar.

Alternatively, you can also:

  1. Click the More options  icon at the top-right corner of the email detail view.
  2. Select Archive from the menu list. 

NotesNote: You can view all of your archived emails under the All Archived view in the folder pane.

Unarchiving Emails

To unarchive an email from the email list:

  1. Navigate to the All Archived view and hover over the email you want to unarchive.
  2. Click the Unarchive  icon.

Alternatively, you can also:

  1. Right-click the email.
  2. Select Unarchive from the menu list.

To unarchive an email from the email detail view:

  1. Navigate to the All Archived view and open the email.
  2. Select Unarchive from the toolbar. 

Alternatively, you can also:

  1. Click the More options  icon at the top-right corner of the email detail view.
  2. Select Unarchive from the menu list. 

Deleting Emails 

You can delete emails and push them to the Trash folder to keep your mailbox clutter-free. You can also delete emails in bulk by emptying folders or subfolders. All deleted emails can be recovered within 30 days of deletion. However, once permanently deleted, that's not possible. 

To delete an email from the email list:

  1. Hover over the email.
  2. Click the Delete  icon.

Alternatively, you can also:

  1. Right-click the email.
  2. Select Delete from the menu list. 

To delete an email from the email detail view:

  1. Open the email you want to delete.
  2. Select Delete from the toolbar. 

Alternatively, you can also:

  1. Click the More options  icon at the top-right corner of the email detail view.
  2. Select Delete from the menu list. 

Permanently Deleting Trashed Emails

The deleted emails will be pushed to the Trash folder and will be automatically deleted forever after 30 days. To empty the trash and permanently delete trashed emails immediately:

  1. Navigate to the Trash Folder.
  2. Select Empty Trash from the information box at the top of the email list. 
  3. Select Proceed in the alert dialog that appears.

Permanently Deleting Spam Emails

Emails marked as spam will be pushed to the Spam folder and will be automatically deleted forever after 30 days. To empty spam and permanently delete spam emails immediately:

  1. Navigate to the Spam Folder.
  2. Select Empty Spam from the information box at the top of the email list. 
  3. Select Proceed in the alert dialog that appears.


 Scrubbing Emails 

To archive or delete all emails from selected email addresses, you can use the Scrub option.

To scrub emails from one sender:

  1. Right-click any email from the desired sender whose emails you wish to archive or delete.

  2. Select Scrub from the menu list.

  3. In the alert that appears, choose between Archive or Delete.

Notes:

  • After bulk archiving emails, they will be moved to the All Archived view. You can access them under Views in the folder pane or by clicking the Filter icon and selecting Archived from the menu list.

  • After bulk deleting emails, they will be moved to the Trash folder. Emails in the Trash folder will be permanently deleted after 30 days.

  • You can only bulk delete emails from the Spam and Trash folders; archiving them in bulk isn't possible.

To scrub emails from multiple senders:

  1. Multi-select emails from the desired senders by clicking the sender's image or the hollow circle.

  2. Select Scrub in the detail view. Sometimes, the Scrub option will be listed under the More menu list when space is limited in the detail view.

  3. An alert will appear, displaying all the email addresses selected. If you've selected more than five senders, it will display them all, letting you choose up to any five of your choice.

  4. Once ready, choose between Archive or Delete.

Notes:

  • When you scrub emails in a Tag or a View, emails from all folders from the selected email addresses will be scrubbed.

  • If you're scrubbing from a specific folder, only the emails in that folder will be archived or deleted. Emails from the same sender in other folders will not be affected.

  • Bulk archiving or deleting is restricted in the following folders and views: Templates folder, Drafts folder, Outbox folder, Shared folders, All Inboxes, Saved Searches, and Search Results.
