Managing Offline Mail in Trident (Windows)

Managing Offline Mail in Trident (Windows)

In this article we'll learn more about Offline Mail and how the Mail module can be accessed even when you're not connected to the internet. This setting is enabled by default and you can browse, compose, and search for emails even while offline. Any email you send during this time will be queued in the Outbox and will be sent automatically once the connection is restored.

Understanding Sync Settings

Sync Frequency: The time interval at which Trident syncs Mail offline.

Sync Variance: The number of email-centric actions performed at which Trident syncs Mail offline.

Mail will be synced offline when either the Sync Frequency or Sync Variance setting is fulfilled first. To understand this better, consider that you've set the sync frequency as 15 minutes and the sync variance as 50 actions.

If you carry out 50 actions first in three or four minutes (or anything less than the set sync frequency), then at that point, Mail will be synced. Similarly, in 15 minutes, if you have done only 20 actions (or anything less than the set variance), Mail will be synced offline.

Notes

Notes:

  • The Sync Frequency and Sync Variance settings are only applicable when Sync option is enabled.
