Exporting Emails in Trident (Windows)

Exporting emails from the mail folders into zipped files helps create a secure, compressed backup for easy storage and access.

InfoNote: This article explores exporting emails in the Trident desktop app. Click here for the Zoho Mail web app's help documentation.

To export emails:

  1. Click the Main Menu icon on the top-left corner of the app.

  2. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.

  3. Go to Mail > Export Emails.

  4. Click Export.

To export emails for your secondary Zoho Mail accounts and other POP/IMAP-configured accounts:

  1. Click the drop-down with the email address listed above the Export button.

  2. Choose the desired account for which you want to create the response.

  3. Click Export.

Setting Up Export Configuration

While exporting, you can set the following configurations:
  • Select the folder from which you'd like to export the emails.
  • Choose the time frame for the emails you’d like to export.

  • Select whether you'd like to export the emails in EML or PST  format.

  • Choose whether you'd like to export the emails in the subfolders (if any) and only the archived emails in that folder.

  • You can optionally secure the zipped file with a password for added security. (Highly recommended.)

On clicking Export, the emails will be queued for exporting. Once done, you can click the Download  icon to download the zipped file. After 30 days, it will automatically be deleted.

Notes:

  • The link to the exported file will be emailed to you, and it will be valid for a period of 30 days.

  •  The file password isn't stored, and hence, if forgotten, the file can't be opened.
