Searching for Emails in Trident (Windows)

In this article, we'll see how you can search for emails in the Mail module.

Understanding Search Parameters 

Trident offers more than 45 distinct search parameters. Each parameter and its function is described below.


Search by email fields:

From:

To list emails from the specified contact

To:

To list emails with the specified contact in the To field

Cc:

To list emails with the specified contact in the Cc field

To/Cc:

To list emails with the specified contact in the To or Cc field

From Does Not Contain:

To list emails that do not contain the specified contact in the From, To, and Cc email fields.

To Does Not Contain:

Cc Does Not Contain:

To/Cc Does Not Contain:


Search by email content:

Subject

To list emails with the specified subject

Contains

To list emails with the specified text or email address in the entire email

Email Content Contains

To list emails with the specified text in the email content

Subject Does Not Contain

To list emails that do not contain the specified text/email address or subject


Search by attachment details:

Attachment Type

To list emails based on the attachment file type

Has Attachment

To list emails with attachments

Has Inline Attachment

To list emails with attachments in the email body

Attachment Name

To list emails with the specified attachment name

Attachment Content

To list emails with the specified content in the attachment

Size Less Than

To list emails lesser than the specified size

Size More Than

To list emails greater than the specified size

Attachment Name Does Not Contain

To list emails that do not contain the specified text in the attachment name

Attachment Content Does Not Contain

To list emails that do not contain the specified content in the attachment


Search for emails by date:

Date

To list emails received on a specific date

From Date

To list all the emails received from a specific date

To Date

To list all the emails received up to a specific date

NotesNote: You can select emails between a specific date range using the From and To date filters.

Search emails:

In Folder

To list emails in a specified folder

Tag

To list emails with the specified tag

Flag

To list emails with the specified flag

Flagged

To list emails that have been flagged

Priority

To list emails marked with the specified priority

Replied

To list emails that have been replied to

Forwarded

To list emails forwarded by a particular sender

Searching for Emails     

There are three ways to search for emails:

  • Begin typing your search keywords in the search bar and select the relevant parameter from the listing that appears.

  • Choose the parameter first and then type in the search keyword.

  • Include multiple search parameters in the search bar to narrow down the search results.

Searching for Spam or Trashed Emails 

To search for emails in spam and trash folders:

  1. Type in the search keywords.

  1. Use the In Folder parameter and select Spam or Trash.

    


To include spam or trashed emails in your search results:

  1. Type in the search keywords.

  1. Use the include spam/ trash parameter.


Searching for Emails From  Frequent Contacts  

You can view emails from your frequent contacts without having to select any search parameters by simply clicking on the contact image in the search drop-down menu.



Viewing  Recent Search Results   

The recent searches appear below the search parameters. You can view the three most recent searches that were performed.


If there are certain search keywords that you use repeatedly, you can save the search and easily access those emails without searching for them each time. To save a search:

  1. In the Search Bar, type your search keywords and press enter.

  1. The list of relevant search results will be displayed.

  1. Click the Save Search  icon at the top of the list view.

  1. Name the search and click Save.
